    ARCHIVED Dry Skin

I was just about to make a post about dry skin, my problem is i have dry skin and reddish patches on my face and forehead, ive been gluten free for around 4 weeks now, did anyone else get it when going gluten free for the first time ?
  3. Yes thats exactly how ive felt, also sometimes when i'm talking it would almost feel as though it was someone elses voice, hard to explian the feeling, it's not really a panic attack because i'm not struggling for breath etc but it's certainly a scary experience sometimes, it could be a symptom of depression aswell.
  4. Thanks for the replies and advice everyone, I have been suffereing with this on and off since going gluten free around 3-4 weeks ago, although the last few days ive seen an improvment so i guess it could be from cutting out gluten so suddenly, perhaps my body had been kind of addicted to it, ive been taking B12 subligual for around 2 weeks now aswell...
  5. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience of this as part of there experience with gluten, be it eating gluten foods or when you went gluten free etc. here is the wikipedia description of Depersonalization- Depersonalization Disorder (DPD) is a dissociative disorder in which sufferers are affected by persistent feelings of depersonalization...
  6. Thanks for the reply, i have not been diagnosed with celiac disease/gluten intolerence and i'm not planning on eating weetabix, that particular food is what made me think i have a problem with gluten/wheat in the first place because after adding it to my breakfast for around 3 weeks i felt awful, thats why i'm now experimenting with a gluten/wheat free diet...
  7. I know this is a hypothetical question, and a bit silly, but how bad would you feel and how long would it take you to recover from eating 2 weetabix cereal daily for a period of 3 weeks ?
  8. Thanks for the reply- I just seem to feel mentally different as each week passes, not always a good different though, just different, sometimes i feel pretty good, other times i feel spacey/lethargic/weak/tired/irritable/anxious/depressed it's quite frustrating, i just want to get on a even keel, i feel a bit out of whack i hope it's passes soon. But...
  9. Could the withdrawal feeling be worse because for the 2-3 weeks prior to going gluten free i was eating a lot of gluteny foods, i had just began adding wheatabix to my breakfast, which i guess is probably one of the worse things you can eat iof you're gluten/wheat intolerent ? when eating wheatabix for breakfast my sumptoms got worse 10 fold and i felt...
  10. Thanks, i guess the very fact that something seems to be happening after going gluten free is evidence that i do have a problem with gluten/wheat, ive heard people talk about there depression /irritability/mood lifting after around 2-3-4 weeks so i'm hoping i have a lifting soon.It could well be a side effect of of going gluten free in much the same way...
  11. I'm now 3 weeks into my gluten free diet and i think i'm getting better, the first 2 weeks were up and down mentally but i feel kind of strange is it normal to feel a little strange ? i think it could be depression i'm not so sure, i feel better overall but still don't feel 'right', just feels like something is off, i seem to feel different everyday,...

  16. Thanks for the replies, I can handle physical stuff but the mental side of it is really hard, for past few days ive had to drag myself out of bed, i just want to feel like my old self again, hopefully this week i'll see a break through at some point, just going to have to suck it up a bit longer. anyone else please feel free to list your withdrawal...
  17. Thanks Raven, I am experiencing moodiness right now, i am also avoiding people so i don't have to talk to them, even family, and small things are annoying me IE church bells in the distance, which i'd never even noticed before have suddely become very annoying, I have also cried over something that wasn't even that big of a deal.(how very manly of me...

  22. Thanks Raven, I have recieved my b12 vitamins today so i'm going to give those a go, i feel somewhat better but the depression is still with me, i keep thinking it's going but then it comes back, i should be more patiant i suppose, it's kind of a strange depression, a kind of lonely feeling yet i don't want to talk to anybody, i just don;t feel myself...
  23. Hello, just to check in, i'm doing a lot better after cutting gluten from my diet, still not 100% obviously that takes time but i really do think it's having an affect, my modd is still a little flat but is improving, feels a bit like when i started on anti depressants a few years ago ( i no longer take them and haven't for 2-3 years). Not started on the sub...
  24. Thanks again for the advice. Ive heard people say that after being hevily glutened they do experience some strange feelings, sometimes of ditachment and spacy feelings, i think once ive got the gluten fully out of my system these feelings will hopefully dissapate, along with some help from the b12's, ...you could be right about the withdrawal aswell.
  25. How are you being treated for the anemia ? or will that just correct itself ? i have ordered some subligual gluten free B12's, from what ive read you can greatly benefit from these.I'm going to keep going gluten free un-less i start to feel really bad, and up to now apart from the depression and sometimes strange feelings i feel as though i'm improving...
