Great news! I found some sub-lingual B12 tablets today. these are made by Herbs of Gold and state on the bottle that they are gluten, vegan and dairy free, whoopee!
  2. Ok this is a post to say thank you to all those wonderfully helpful Aussies out there that have given me so much information in so little time. Aussie Peg was wonderful too and sent me a very long email that I cut and copied into a permanent folder on my desktop of my PC. Today I went into town for a recce and low and behold Borders had the book the EnteroLabs...
  3. Please don't feel dumb. I am a lot older than you and I have no idea what most posters are talking about when they just use initials. Often it takes me hours to thinl of the disease/condition they are posting about. You and I can just muddle along together.
  4. I did a gluten challenge over several days last week and experienced discomfort with pain, loose stools and now I have been excessively gassy all day. Even I don't want to be in my own presence. I am wondering how long will these symptoms last? Joss

RavenWG I live in Australia and sublingual B12 isn't sold here, or at least I can't find any. I seem to have some B12 symptons with tingling, numb patches and cramps. Blood tests seem normal though. I also get a bit of brain fog. As you get older you tend to worry about that. I have a theory that a lot of elderley people actually have B12 deficiency. Funny...

Detee I have severe osteoporosis and very low iron levels too. I have had asthma from 14 months and this is the main reason I don't want an endoscope done as I am nervous about the GA. I started getting migraines around 18, Graves Disease around 35 and just recently I was diagnosed with RSD (CRPS) I have balance problems associated with vertigo. All this...
  7. Thank you so much for forwarding the Cadbury's info. Luckily I ate some dairy milk chocolate even though I have a problem with milk too. The people at Mentos sent me an email saying that all mentos products are gluten free. it says as much on their website too. I have never had any side effects from eating them. I have so much to learn. Joss
  8. At least you know about this now and you can take steps to be healthy. Think how awful it would be if you were unaware of the problem. Try not to worry. It won't help anything and it will make you ill.
  9. I can answer this. I received an email from RnteroLab kust yesterday and this is what it said in part; The IgA blood test that came out positive confirmed that you are sensitive to the gluten protein therefore, you should permanently remove gluten from your diet. The IgG test that was negative was to confirm an allergy not a sensitivity. There is a...
  10. I ate some gluten yesterday and I ate some chocolate tonight. It was a Cadbury Dairy Milk and I hope it was gluten-free. Anyway I have a few more days before the effects of the gluten wear off. I am incredibly itchy and I have broken out in a skin rash. I think it was because I used some soap, but it also might be the glutening. I have lost all self control...
  11. Thank you for posting this because I went off my gluten-free diet recently and I feel so listless, depressed and terribly tired. I am not sleeping well and I am worried about getting cancer. When I am cheerful I never think about it at all. Right now I am both tired and sleepy.
  12. Hi can I join in this discussion? I live in Perth and I am also on a gluten-free diet. I had a positive IgA test in 2001, which my doctor at the time told me to igmnore. When I finally want gluten free 3 months ago many of my lifetime illnesses seem to be resolving. I was wondering about the Cadbury chocolate line after finding that my favourite mentos...

I detect a touch of elitism between those who have had an 'official' biopsy taken, against those who have some other form of diagnosis. Here cannot join the local Aussie celiac support group because I am not having a biopsy. joss
  14. I don't know about anyone else, but I ate some gluten containing foods the other day and my mouth has several small ulcers.. Usually they are on the inside of my cheeks. Today they are on the inside of my mouth just under my lips. They are only small, but they hurt a lot. Especially tonight as I ate at a hotel and they mistakenly served me worcestershire...

Thank you all for your replies. I am still suffering various symptoms from the gluten challenge. Like many of you I have multiple allergies, and other ailments that point to a gluten problem. Since my first asthma attack came at 14 months, the time I was weaned and has continued all my life, I think there is a fair chance that gluten containing foods are...

Here in Australia the main celiac support association will only accept you if you have had a positive biopsy. As I said before I really do not want to go down that path unless it's really necessary. I have already had a good experience with a gluten free diet. Jocelyn

Thank you Scotty and Fiddle-faddle for your replies. My family think I am mad and just looking for illnesses on the net. Because I keep a lot of this stuff to myself they don't realise the problem is serious. My grandkids like the loud burping, which they see as cool. It seems that even farting is "in" these days too. I am going back to a gluten free...

Hello I am new here and currently I am eating gluten containing foods after being gluten free for over 3 months. This is necessary to undergo more blood tests. I don't want to have an endoscopy because I am an asthmatic. After just 2 days, my tummy is so distended I cannot do up my pants, I am wheezing slightly, my nose is running, you certainly don't want...
