Hi Bluewave the local site states that low calcium levels with muscle spasm are among some of the less common symptoms in adults. I know that I have low calcuim levels due to the fact that I have osteoporosis. I suppose it can also occur in children too Joss

ARCHIVED What Happens At A Neurolgist?
Joss replied to Dandelion's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I too am scared and get paniky in small spaces. However when I had an MRI on my head, I just closed my eyes and practised my meditation techniques. I won't say it was entirely comfortable, but it wasn't scary either. Just keep your eyes closed. Joss -
ARCHIVED Can Someone Please Explain Cross Contamination To Me?
Joss replied to Aligray's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am just in the learning stage too. Recently my sister and my Easy Cook broke and we need to buy a new top. We don't have an oven or griller and we used this to grill our foods in. Yesterday Jude came in to my room and told me to use her George Foreman grill. I told her no way because she grills meat in it and I am vegan. She answered and said that... -
I often get cramp in the middle of the night and most often it's in my calf muscles. However lately my toes have been cramping badly, even during the day. I have been taking extra magnesium, but it doesn't seem to help. My toes sort of turn up, which sounds funny, but it is extremely painful and nothing helps. Last night I tried getting up and walking...

ARCHIVED Confusion Enerolab?
Joss replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My understanding about the stool tests, after reading a lot of the information provided on the site. Is because they examine materials that have come in contact witht he intestines, they are more sensitive than the indirect blood tests, which take longer to show any digressions. I don't know about your dogs, but my cat eats biscuits and I have to tell... -
ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)

I dislike the pastry in quiiches anyway. Why not make it like a fritata and just bake the filling in a nonstick dish/tray. Thinly sliced and overlapped potato also amkes a good quiche base. I hope you have a great party MissWingBat and big birthday hugs to your little party person. Joss -

I don't eat much processed food but I tried the Leda mintons which tasted fine to me. How about having fruit at you baby's party. I love sliced rockmelon. Just remember to keep your food separated and far away from the glutenous stuff. If you buy some icy pole molds, you will have to fight the kids off to get them. I make mine with chopped fruits and OJ... -
I suspect I am gluten intolerant and I also have osteoporosis, chronic anemia, asthma, migraines, consitpation, digestive pains, bloatinng and gas. I have also been diagnosed with Graves Disease and RSD in the past and still my doctor wants to be sure and do more tests. All I know is that my chronic inflamation subsides when I go gluten free. However...

Well I am so much better. I haven't been admitted to hospital with asthma since 1986. Still they are not believers. I am not going to pursue this anymore and I am not eating any food just to please others either. Joss

It's just that I ge flack from members of my family, who think this is all in my head. Because this has been an ongoing problem for most of my life, they think I should be better now. No way can I convince my daughter that food makes a difference to diseases like asthma, osteoporosis and heavens above, RSD. I thought if I get a medical diagnosis, then...

Ok I went to see my new doctor today, but somehow the appointment was made with the test mad idiot doctor instead. Now my regular doctor for some reason abruptly closed down her practise without notice earlier this year. The first I knew about it was when I received my medical records in the mail. Now of course I am left shopping for a doctor that knows nothing...

ARCHIVED Anyone React Less To Cooked Gluten?
Joss replied to rainabear's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well I have so much to learn. I went out with my DD today and she told me that 90% of burping that we do has nothing to do with the food we eat. She told me it was how I eat it. I was told that for years that I was inhaling a lot of air with my food. I now know better. For me it is the food. Thank God I have you lot. At least you understand. i have... -
ARCHIVED Anyone React Less To Cooked Gluten?

Ok I am new and I seriously did not see anyone in this thread being abusive. Maybe just some misunderstanding. Most of us come from different life experiences. Rainabear if my post offended you I am so sorry. Now I have been in my life a huge bread lover and I found it difficult to give it up at first and until very recently I kept regressing. Now with... -

Aussie Peg I think I ordered a Toastabag yesterday. I placed my order and paid with my credit card. Then I was informed that I would be notified soon about the final price. Somehow I find this a bit strange. I hope I get my little toaster mate sometime soon. Miss wing Bat I have a prolapsed bladder and a pessary is used to treat this condition. Joss -
ARCHIVED Glutenous Rice

Tamari is great and not as salty either. Once you keep using a product your taste buds ajust anyway. A lot of salt is not good for the body and tamari is a step in the right direction. Joss -

Great to hear how supportive you are to Cindy. A man like you is one in a million. Keep up the good work. Now I am older and I have had severe asthma all my life. The fact that I have to be careful around food should be obvious. But no, my daughter thinks I am funny about food. She has even told me that she just eats food and does not analyse it. I had... -
ARCHIVED Australians And New Zealanders Hellooooooo :)

MissWingBat first Aussie Peg would have forwarded that info to you, but I just happened to be online so I sent it instead. I only hope I did not step on any toes. I keep it on my desktop handy to use at a moments notice. Next never ask them to put it in the microwave to warm up as this could lead to cross contamination ( I learnt that the other day)... -
ARCHIVED Anyone React Less To Cooked Gluten?
Joss replied to rainabear's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ths short answer from me is no. I loved drinking malted milkshakes when I was a kid in the 50's and I was a snotty nosed little kid with asthma. Later I began burping and developing migraine headaches and still I drank milkshakes. I even cheated on my lactose free diet my mum had me on when I was 12. Today I am a lot older and finally somewhat wiser when... -

MissWingBat I can forward Aussie Pegs list if you pm your email. Or you can send Peg a PM. One of the nice things I discovered today was that Muffin Break make gluten free muffins. They are made first and the tongs are isolated and don't touch any other muffin in the store. The ones I had today were apple berry and were very nice. They are $4.40 each and... -
Justine I broke my wrist in 2005 after slipping on some gravel. My legs sliiped out from under me and I landed palm dowm on my bottom. I fractured my wrist but as I was in an area that did not have a hospital the local health care centre put it in a cast and I waited 4 days before I saw my doctor. She sent me to the local trauma unit and they put it in a...

RSD is now called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and she has had it for over 5 years now. She was slightly injured in a MVA and her injuries resulted in RSD. I also delepode RSD after breaking my wrist, but after a lot of hard work in the hydrotheraphy pool, it went away leaving me with just a few symptoms. She does not want to know about anything like...

ARCHIVED What Else Could Cause A Positive Biopsy?
Joss replied to JessieFree's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My doctor told me a positive IgA test was not worth bothering about. I found a gluten free diet helps and is worth bothering about. Find someone who can explain whether it is gluten sensitivity or not. Your health matters both to you and your family.
