    my liver ALT was slightly elevated for about 6 months and its been 6 months since i retested. Since then i have discovered that I have bacterial overgrowth and low stomach acid. can either of these elevate that specific enzyme? i had all the hep viruses, CMV, Lime, & gallbladder stones ruled out

    i may try grapefruit seed extract for a week and see if that helps (that and caprylic acid were the only 2 on the list)- would rather not take antibiotics but i have heard good things about rifaximin. we shall see

    Dysbiotic flora...klebsiella oxytoca (+4); Klebsiells pneumoniae (+4); Enterobacter cloacae (+4) Commensal Flora (imbalanced)...e.hermannii(+4) & mucoid e.coli (+4) Beneficial...lactobacilli (+2); Bifido (no growth) Organisms are sensitive to citrus seed extract & cipro - dont think they test for rifaxamin sensitivity. bottom line is any antibiotic...

    Another concern is consuming Rifaximin and possibly making things worse...i.e. c.diff, candida overgrowth, more parasites. this is such a delicate balance and im no sure how to go about doing this

    Dont have pets, however i really think something was going on at my last apartment/bldg. Not sure if there is a direct correlation but interesting how the encouraging test results showed up after i moved.

    Got the results of my follow up stool tests today- I am essentially parasite free except for hookworm which i will treat with a 5 day course of mebendazole. however, i do have bacterial overgrowth and the test showed no growth of bifido and very little growth of lactobacilli - anyone know how this is possible? I megadose on probiotics daily but for some...

    And again I may not even have celiac - all i know is when i take this before meals in restaurants i always feel fine after and in the past there were times when i felt ill...even at the same restaurants

    Never said that it was protecting me from damage and the enzyme does in fact help me with digestion. sorry

    I had 2 cupcakes - yes 2 cupcakes - they were out of this world and completely gluten & dairy free. The place is called Frostings and its on Broad Street in North Richmond, VA Try it on!

    Well I wouldn't jump the gun and say my doctor is an idiot- he only suggested I take it as a precaution when eating out (for cc) and that I should still do my best to avoid gluten. not like he said i can eat at subway and the pill will digest all the gluten. I do notice some benfit from the enzyme so i will continue to take it as i see fit By the way...

    Honestly I can never tell. Sometimes I get tingling in my legs but that doesnt happen frequently and since i have so many food sensitivities it really could be anything. Last night I got some sorbet at a gelato place. The owner confirmed the sorbet is gluten free and after i got some tingling in my legs..not sure if it was gluten or something else ...

    thanks= so the kirkland corn chips are free of CC? r they made on dedicated lines? i know safe chips are hard to find

    Fissures do not cause cancer- My doctor told me that Did your family member have any issues with incontinence after the surgery?

    Anyone have any experiences w/ fissures? ive had one for almost 10 years - it actually went away for a while but as soon as my bowels get messed up it gets aggravated. its really bad now. Last year i had to have surgery for a fistula and now i might have to go back for a 2nd surgery to repair this fissure. I wanted the doc to fix it when i was in surgery...

    Interesting- I wonder if bacterial overgrowth can cause a false positive stool anti-gliadin antibody response as well?

    I just visited with a wonderful GI doc in NYC and he wants me to determine if i really do have celiac once and for all so he recommended a capsule endoscopy and may even want me to do a gluten challenge. I guess at this point i really would like a 100% confirmation. He also wants to retest my celiac genetic profile since the test does produce false positives...
