  2. I am going away with my family this summer to Long Beach Island. My 2 year old has celiac & I plan on bringing most of her food to the restaurants. However, it would be nice to take her somewhere where I don't have to cook first! Anyone know of anywhere?
  3. I had my daughter tested for celiac as a precaution. My other daughter has it so we wanted to test her too. They have different fathers & celiac runs in my husband's family (he is the father of the confirmed celiac). Anyway, she has absolutely NO symptoms and all of her labs were normal except her tTG IgG was 12 (positive is >9 ). I have a call...

  6. I want to be able to make mac & cheese in the microwave on the go. Anyone have success with microwaving Tinkyada pasta? It would be great to be able to just add cheese to it and have a quick lunch.
  7. Is the powdered cheese gluten free from Kraft Mac & Cheese? I'm hoping it is so that I can use that with gluten free pasta when I am in a pinch. It would be great on the go when I don't have access to a freezer! Also, what about the goopy Kraft cheese that comes in the foil pouch for the Kraft Deluxe and the Velveeta mac & cheeses in a box.
  8. I have a Breadman from about 6 years ago that I never used. Now that I need to make gluten-free bread, I would love to use it. But, it doesn't have a setting for gluten-free bread. It is very basic but I'd hate to have to get a new one if I don't need to. Thanks!
  9. Has anyone tried to make this? I love their other products but don't know if this is as good as the others.
  10. I know La CHoy soy sauce is ok but what about the teriyaki & the Ginger teriyaki marinade?
  11. What mainstream frostings are ok. I heard that Betty Crocker was ok, then it wasn't. The same for Duncan Hines... I know many of you will suggest making my own but I need a solution when that is not possible. I work a lot and if someone else is with my daughter, I would love to be able to tell them as many ready-made things as possible. I keep gluten-free...
  12. My 2 year old is recently diagnosed. I have been getting a lot of education but I am having trouble completely understanding. I have read many posts where people are disagreeing on what is gluten-freen and what is not. Some people eat something that others will not. My daughter is 2 so can't really tell me much but when she is older can tell me that...
  13. I know that many of you have said to stay away from Quaker rice crisps because of cross-contamination. I found Price Chopper rice crisps that look ok and I was wondering if they were. Also, America's Choice store brand says gluten-free but it seems too good to be true.
  14. Wow!! Thanks for all of the suggestions......that cake looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. My 2 year old has Celiac. In our local supermarket there is a beautiful cinderella cake that she of course can't have for her birthday. i live in Albany, NY and I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere semi-close where there is a bakery that can do this gluten-free. I know its a ljg shot but I figured I'd ask.
  16. I am trying to do make your own sundaes for a party I am doing. I am tying to figure out what hot fudge brands are glutenfree as well as other liquid toppings. Please help! Carvel wouldn't make a cake for me without the crunchies becasue they didn't want to turn on the machine and now I am stuck! Thanks!
  17. My 2 year old goes to the GI doc this week. Her bloodwork is positive so I know we will be switching her diet completely gluten-free soon. We have been waiting to see if they want to do anymore tests. Anyway, I am trying to stock up on supplies and I need to know a few brands that are ok. What is a good teriyaki sauce? Also, Heinz Ketchup is ok, right...
  18. The ingredients look fine but I thought I'd ask the experts!
  19. I have now heard from more than one person that their insurance companies reimburse them for some of the cost of gluten-free food. This sounds impossible to me but I was wondering if anyone out there knows if this is true!
  20. Are the Quaker Rice Crisps gluten-free? Just by looking at the ingredients they appear to be but I am so new to this that I better ask!
  21. My 2 year old has Celiac and I am trying to find her yummy cookies. I have recipes to make my own but I also need ready-made ones in a pinch and for travel. She tried Glutano Chocolate O's and liked them but I was wondering what you guys recommend! Thanks!
  22. I am brave enough to make my own bread but only if I use a mix and a bread machine. Which mixes are the best? I assume Gluten Free Pantry is good. Any other suggestions?
  23. I don't know if this is the right place to post this question but I will anyway! I want to make pancakes, like Pamela's, but make a big batch and freeze them for convenience. Does anyone do this? I want to be able to take out one at a time for my little girl. Thanks!
  24. I want to make gluten-free cupcakes. I have the mix and I thought that Betty Crocker had some gluten-free frostings but when I went to the store, the ones I read said containds wheat. I saw a few Duncan Hines that didn't mention wheat but I was in a rush and couldn't spend the time. Does anyone use any mainstream frostings? I know I can make my own but...
