    I agree that you should check with your doctor before adding an iron supplement. My doctor put me on 325 mg of Ferrous Sulfate. I buy the Rugby Natural. They have them at CVS, but you have to go up to the pharmacist. You don't need a prescription, but they don't keep them on the shelves.

    When I was first diagnosed, I was completely overwhelmed. The biggest help for me was the book, The Gluten Free Bible. I've loaned my copy out to a couple of other people who were diagnosed after me, and they've all gone out and bought their own copy.     One of the hardest social situations is trying to get non celiacs to understand that celiac isn't like diabetes or a weight-loss diet.     I didn't like any of the store bought breads, so I just didn't eat bread until I started feeling well enough to cook my own. The best recipe I've found so far is in Bette Hagman's cookbook, The Gluten - Free Gourmet Bakes Bread. Her Four Flour Bread Mix is great.
