  11. Yep...........that sounds about right! ...........but you forgot.......pin to the wrong side, cut it out backwards .........attach pieces and find they don't line up .........and when and if you DO get to the sewing, you jam the machine because the needle stopped advancing and the thread congregates in one massive bunch and has multiplied inside the machine...
  12. Telling the parents can be oh so tricky. When my DD was that age, she was at her best friend's house along with a cousin of the friend. They were on the computer talking to grown men and my daughter told me. I approached the mother and told her I was informing her so she could keep a more watchful eye. I asked her not to let it be known that my daughter told...
  13. Well........I guess it doesn't look too promising for me, then . I am definitely not a chatty person. But I must say that those kind of people really take the pressure off those of us who have naught to say around new people. Souczle.........I've always felt I am a closet ADHD .......can't follow a task to completion. Sewing is even more problematic...

  18. Twas me favOurite cereals when I was little That's MY lucky number! My locker combination in HS was 27-17-7. And the address of the first house we bought was 2722. It is also in my social security number. And if you take the last name I was born with, replace each letter with the number of it's position in the alphabet, then add the digits of...
  19. So good to hear from you, Sarah. Just a thought, but have you considered being a substitute teacher? My daughter's boyfriend was desperate for a job and applied in our school district and got accepted immediately........they are always needing subs. He hasn't gotten his degree yet, so the pay is not as much as someone with one. At least he's working.

  21. Skippy peanut butters are safe......I get a natural brand to avoid the sugar. Cottage cheese should be safe. Modified food starch in some used to be a concern, since it could contain wheat, but new labeling laws require wheat to be clearly labeled. Yoplait yogurts are safe. The only safe Dannon yogurts are the plain ones. Stick around and...
  22. That won't be your last or only tear-filled day, sometimes we still have them, but it does get better Check out these sites Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Any fresh fruits and veggies are fine, including potatoes. So are frozen, as long as there are no added sauces. I know you have to be careful about yogurt...
  23. I've never tried the powder, but I do like carob chips and carob covered nuts. I was just thinking about this the other day. Haven't had carob since before gluten-free. I can't do sugar and was wondering if it was in carob........probably is.......wishful thinking
  24. That was quick........no long lines to stand in, observing tightness of shirts, condition of teeth,.......length of thumbs, perhaps? One district here had five hour waiting. I bet they got to know each other really well........learned their family stories, idiosyncracies, bathroom habits, favorite TV shows, restaurants, where they go most often........
  25. When I'm running late in the mornings I grab a Think Thin bar.......high in protein and says gluten-free right on the front of the package. They aren't cheap so they are only for emergencies. Van's waffles are kind of easy to eat on the run with cream cheese (I use Tofutti brand--no dairy) or peanut butter. Van's also makes whole grain waffles, so make sure...
