  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. My point was you don't have to get all dizzied out by this - it is a do-able situation - to have a mixed house hold. I have 3 people my husband and my 4 year old and 1 year old that do eat gluten. We all live in the same house - plus we are talking to someone who is just starting out here - Some people react badly to one crumb some don't - she is one that...
  3. I'd like to add a little something, I know all this sounds overwhelming and it can be. Try not to get to overwhelmed by it all - it's just a new style of doing things. The worst part is not eating out(for the people that do it a lot), don't kill yourself if you mess up, everyone does, and even the most vigalent people still get "glutened". Luckily I...
  4. That sounds like what I get on my face the clear puss filled little pimple like things. I had a martini the other night and woke up with a small patch on my face. It dawned on me that the alcohol might have been derived from grains and I didn't bother to check it. I am careful about never eating any gluten but I try not to be overly careful because for...
  5. Anyone have a rash that comes up after eating gluten that is not DH? I have had this rash on my face since I was 18 , I used to take tetracycline for it. About two days after I ate some gluten it came up in 3 different patches on my face. I am starting to wonder if the two are related. Anyone else ever heard of this?
  6. I am terrified of this Chronic Fatigue Syndrome thing....There is not cure for it. My doctor said he wanted me to come back again in one month and that he would "retest" things. He said expect not to feel "better" for 6 months. He did not mention Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I am pretty sure he did not want to scare the crap out of me. The weired thing for...
  7. Thanks - I think i will "chill out" on the dieting for now. I have always eaten under 900 calories because of my thyroid... I have had to do that just to maintain a normal weight... it pretty much bites!
  8. You can develop it as adult. It usually runs in families. My brother has had chronic asthma since birth, I can't tell you how many times he has almost died when were kids. He has a breathing machine he takes for the attacks - His son (5 years old) also has it. My brother seems to have grown out of the really horrible stage - He still has to use his breathing...
  9. Yes I think it is - I'm only 5'4...at 125 I fit into about a size 2 or 4. My diet foods are - fruits - vegetables - fish and chicken- carob raisins or grapes for "desserts" . Typical Day is Breakfast - Hand full of grapes or an apple (cream of rice if im really hungry) Lunch - sometimes i skip - or Tuna fish plain or raw carrots with half a...
  10. I was just diagnosed with Celiac, but have been gluten free for two months now. I decided after putting on about 15 pounds from the gluten-free food (and exhaustion) that I should loose them before it is to late, and they become permanent. I was 120 lbs when I started the gluten-free diet - which is not under weight (but people made comments about how thin...
  11. That is exactly how I feel when I get glutend...Major depression is my first sign of being glutened. I want to die - my first tip off.
  12. I had always blamed my symptoms on my thyroid, when I had been on my thyroid medicine for over a year I started to realize most things where not getting better in fact some were worse. My endocrinologist told me that it was not my thyroid or my thyroid medicine. These are the symptoms I experienced before everything decided to break that I blamed...
  13. I will take a stab at answering your question. First of all understand that hashimotos is different than Hypo or hyper thyroid. (hashimotos can exhibit the same symptoms of both) Though some doctors use the term hypothyroid interchangeably with hashimotos it is not the same thing. I suppose they do this because in most cases hashimotos causes your...
  14. Hi ! Bear with me I know this is long..... I have had the same thing going on with me since December 07 - I felt awful 2 weeks out of most months. I was sick and TIRED all the time -Before that December in 07, I was in GREAT shape running 3 plus miles 6 days a week - I was very active- That ended in December -Since then I caught ANY cold or flu...
  15. You know I wondered about this as well...I was thinking though most medicine is absorbed through your blood stream not your intestines... It goes from stomach to blood stream -I think-
