  1. I've been reading about everyone's specific gene types and I'm wondering how I could figure out which one I have. On my labs from Prometheus it only says: DQ2 (HLA DQA1*05/DQB1*02) I'm just curious about the specific types...adeles I guess they're called. Does my test show these? Thanks!
  2. I do take probiotics, and Nystatin. Last thing I need is yeast! Yikes!! Do you think the docs are wrong and it's a definite that I do have Celiac? The report says "supports a diagnosis of celiac disease, not that I do have it. I know that damage can be patchy but why would they all question it? My ttg was 7.8 and the cut off was 4. Now they tell...
  3. Yes...I am being treated with IV rocephin and zithromax. That's what I'm figuring my tummy issues are from. Although as soon as I started going gluten free (and I am VERY careful) I started having a lot of trouble. That was 4 months before I found out about the lyme. My LLMD thinks the allergies started from the lyme. My GI thought maybe the lyme...
  4. I've been getting confusing info from my docs. I tested positive for Celiac last March by the blood test. Negative biopsy. I don't have my test results in front of me, but it was the Promethius test and my numbers were only slightly elevated. Like if the cutoff was 10, I was 12. The EMA was positive. I remember when I was having the biopsy, I was...
  5. Hi Everyone Since going gluten free my blood pressure plummets from time to time. As a rule it is very low..80's over 50's and the doctors check and recheck it but don't seem too worried. Today I felt really sick and weak all the sudden and when I checked it on a monitor it was 74 over 44. I really don't know why this is happening. I've always had lower...
  6. Hi and thanks again I've had EVERYTHING checked. All tests come back fine. My vitamin D is in the low end of normal, my iron was okay but my ferritin was low end of normal. All other vitamins okay. I've been checked for other autoimmune diseases and they came back negative. My lyme did go off to IgeneX.....have a wonderful new doctor! I...
  7. But would my mind get worse and worse? I mean it's really scary. I can barely function. My nutrition should start to get better shouldn't it? So the blood work couldn't possibly be wrong or mean something else? I would rather be healthy..not trying to deny it but I wonder why so many people would question it. I can't see how I could get much worse...
  8. Hi everyone I've been having a lot of trouble and wondering if I could get some advice. Since going gluten free I have been getting progressively worse. My mind doesn't work at all. My memory is shot...can't remember anything from even hours ago. I can't gain weight and look extremely malnourished. I seem to react (my brain gets muddled) to just about...
  9. How do I get the faces to show in my post? Don't mean to sound stupid, but every time I tryall I get are the keyboard versions. I'd like to use them!!
  10. Hi Pauliina Thanks for the info. How would I know if there's casein in something? I'm so overwhelmed with the things I can't eat and I need to eat a lot because I am very underweight. I eat different things every day but this brain stuff is always there. Some days are worse so I figure those days I may have gotten some. Can never figure out from...
  11. Thanks for the info! I don't think I have ataxia. I don't have balance problems just extreme problems with memory and concentration. My brain was always sharp and since diagnosis it's been getting worse and worse. It feels like only half my brain is working and I can't figure out what is going on. I'm even having trouble communicating verbally. Not to mention...
  12. I've been eating really healthy....except for the occasional treat. (Trying to gain weight) Where would I get tested for food sensitivities? Everything seems to bother me now but only in a more "where'd my mind go" kind of way. I never had any kind of gut troubles before. How about the mercury? I see an integrative MD but he's not really into doing...
  13. I've been gluten free for over 2 months now and really not getting any better. I was wondering if anyone has had problems with their memory, cognitive functioning, and overall mental capacity still getting worse on a gluten free diet? I know I am being gluten free to the extreme. I research and check everything. I never had any gut issues or food problems...
  14. Hi Everyone I've been having a hard time lately and was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice. I've been gluten free for over 2 months now and seem to be getting sicker and sicker. I am being VERY careful about CC and eat very plain. My dietician wants me to eat tons of food every day to get my weight up, but I'm still nauseous all the time...
  15. I think I need to start the candida diet but I'm afraid to because I need to put on weight and it sounds like that would be pretty tough on the diet. Any suggestions? I really think I need to do it because last year I had so much trouble with yeast but didn't know what it could do to a person. I did the spit test and it showed I have it. I see a ND this week...
  16. Hi everyone I am still wondering about CC. I'm the only gluten-free person in the house and while everyone is being very careful I'm still wondering if I could be missing something. If someone eats gluten micro. popcorn and then touches something before washing their hands, could I get glutened by touching the same thing? I keep all my stuff separate, and...
  17. My lab results were done at Prometheus Celiac Plus in CA. I'm not sure what all this means, so here goes: Anti-Gliadin IgG Elisa (AGA IgG) 12.2U/ml <10.0U/ml norm Anti-Gliadin IgA Elisa (AGA IgA) 2.9U/ml <5.0U/ml norm Anti-Human tissue Transglutaminase IgA Elisa (TTG IgA) 7.8 U/ml <4.0 U/ml norm Anti-Endomysial IgA IFA (EMA IgA...
  18. Thanks everyone! I just got some test results back. I thought they were checking for vitamins but all I see is ferritin, folate and iron. My ferritin is low normal. I'd like to get it up but what should you do for that? I know taking too much iron can be bad for you and my iron is okay but lower end. I feel like I'm constantly running to the doctors for tests...
  19. I don't know why, but I keep getting more tired all the time. It's been a month gluten free and I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any cc, but I seem to be getting weaker. Some days it's hard to get out of bed at all. Anybody else get this way? I need to eat more but find I'm too tired to even think about it especially since it's so restrictive. The last thing...
  20. Hi I've had my thyroid checked as well as about everything else. I'm just so exhausted all the time and have no motivation. I've completely lost my appetite so eating is really hard. My doctors tell me I don't have malabsorption issues....so why the drastic weight loss I wonder. Before diagnosis I was eating..maybe not enough to gain weight but enough to...
  21. Thank you Carla! I've been really worried about all the things that could happen to me know that I have celiac disease (I had positive blood work, negative biopsy). I'm not sure how long I've had it, but I think it was caught early. I'm just overwhelmed with worry...can't seem to shake it. Understanding what I can and cannot have, plus where it's...
  22. Hi All I was just reading the OMG thread and it's got me pretty scared. I was just diagnosed and now I'm wondering what else could possibly be bothering me. I don't get the gut issues so it's hard to tell what may or may not cause me a problem. My nutritionist wants me to load up on rice and nuts and dried fruit to supplement my meals because I'm so thin...
  23. Thanks everyone! I've had my thyroid tested for auto immune, etc. and everything came back normal. I'm still waiting on vitamin results. So far everything has come within normal range. Hope I can trust the results.
  24. How would you know if you're sensitive to soy if the only symptoms from celiac are the neurological ones? Would you get a gluten reaction or would it be strictly in your stomach? I was told that if I was to have a reaction to dairy it would be with an upset stomach but I'm wondering about the soy now. If I get glutened....which I just did by licking an envelope...
  25. Thanks for the info. I will be getting a copy of the results in the mail. He did say my cortisol was 11 in a 5-25 range. I had the blood draw in the morning so he said that was good. I want to do the spit test but can't afford it right now. What could I do in the meantime to boost the levels? I want to go back and see my integrative medicine doctor but it...
