ARCHIVED Another Hair Question/adrenal Fatigue
Nan2N posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi All Everyone on here is so informative, I thought I'd ask another question. My doctors tell me I don't have malabsorption because of my bloodwork. And I don't have any other autoimmune stuff going on. So I was just wondering if anyone knows of any other reason for the hair loss with celiac. A lot has been going on with me being sick so I was wondering... -
ARCHIVED Worried About Neurological Symptoms

Thanks for the info! How do you know how much to take? Did you have a blood test to determine if you needed it? I'm still waiting for my results. -
ARCHIVED Anyone Have A Reaction To Bandaids?
Nan2N posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Ever since I've been diagnosed I've had trouble with the tape or bandaids the doctors use after they draw blood. My skin gets very red and itches sometimes for days. Thought this was weird. Anyone else have this problem?? -
ARCHIVED Worried About Neurological Symptoms
Nan2N replied to Nan2N's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Actually I was told by my dietician that I'm eating too much protein! I've been trying very hard to gain some weight. I'm waiting on blood results that will check for B12. Can you get the shots without the doctor thinking you need them? And where do you get the sublingual B12...at the health food store? My doc told me I don't have malabsorption by my blood... -
I've started getting the shakes really bad since going gluten free. My hands used to shake and I had trouble writing before being diagnosed, but now my hands shake really bad and so does my left leg and foot. The brain fog has lifted a little bit, but it still feels like half my brain is shut off. I'm worried that these may increase or not get better even...

ARCHIVED Still Confused
Nan2N replied to Nan2N's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks for the link. But what would it say on the label? What exactly do you check for and then determine it's okay to eat? It just seems like an impossible task to figure out. -
ARCHIVED Still Confused
Nan2N posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm still confused about what I should look for on the labels. I know the obvious like wheat, barley, rye, but what are the other names that gluten is hidden behind. I've read the celiac.com list but it's so long I'd rather give up and just eat meat and potatos. If there's a simplier version I'd love to hear it because I'm having enough trouble getting up... -
ARCHIVED What To Do About My "mixed" House
Nan2N replied to Nan2N's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you all so much for the information. I've been to the dollar store and am waiting for a friend of mine to come over and clean out the kitchen for me. That's never been my strong suit! I'm planning on going completely gluten free because it seems impossible to catch every little crumb. I'm also wondering about silverware and the dishwasher. Can I wash... -
Hi No my doctor didn't even mention checking for vitamin defiencies or anything. I was literally crying to him because I cannot afford to lose another pound and can't stand the way I look. He asked me if I had any history of anorexia!!! Please!! So I don't know what to do now. When I had my biopsy my GI doctor said to change my 2 week follow up to 2 months...

My regular GP doesn't seem to take much of my problems seriously. Especially since my symptoms started as anxiety and moved on from there. Now that I've been diagnosed and am severly malnourished he still doesn't know what to do next. I've read a lot on here about other problems people experience like candida and vitamin deficiencies, etc. and I have no idea...

Now that I officially have celiac disease I don't know how to protect myself in my own house. I have a 10 year old son who eats everything constantly and my ex-husband has come to help while I've been so sick and his food goes all over the place too. Do I need to change my cat food too, even though I'm not eating it? I'm not sure about all the cross contamination...

Thank you so much for the info. Fortunately I don't have ataxia just the fog. Amongst other things. I wouldn't stop taking the med all at once, but fortunately my PDr. thinks my problems are health related and says I may not even need them once we figure this out. I'll look into the B12. Can you take that as a supplement or does it have to be the shot? I...

Thank you so much for answering!! Everyone here is so helpful! So glad to have found this site!

It feels like I am so off with my thinking and just everything in general. I guess it may be this thing called brain fog. I'm so worried it won't go away. Does it clear up when going gluten free? I'd really like my sharp thinking brain back! The fog was there before I was diagnosed so I'm not sure if it's from something else but it's hung on for months and...

I have experienced odd effects with these drugs and i've tried many. What do you mean exactly about what they could do to me? Is it just because in the end I might not need them and now have been putting them into my brain? The one I'm on is gluten free I checked. I'm just having so much trouble thinking clearly, feels like there's a band around my head....

I have lost soooo much weight lately and I look like a skeleton. I've never been this thin in my life and just keep losing and don't want to lose anymore. As I'm new to having celiac and reading these posts I'm wondering what I can eat to gain some weight back. My doctors don't give much information. Plus I have no appetite or desire for anything. It's terrible...

Just wondering about what you mean when you say your digestion collapsed. What happened? I sent you a question earlier about the milk thistle. I'm going to ask my new doc about that one. I've lost so much hair though I hope it recovers somehow.

I am having all the tests run so I know for sure. Doctors think my problem is coming from something physical. Did your problems clear up after going gluten free? I'm wondering if it will take a long time to recover and I'll have to be on meds. Which aren't helping any.

Can't go gluten free til my biopsy this week. If you don't mind me asking how bad did the mental horrors get for you? I've been going on 7 months and it seems no relief in sight. And how long til that went away after going gluten free? I'm at my wits end!! Thanks

Hi all I'm new here. This is a great place for information and I was hoping someone could help me out. Last fall, after a big meal I had a very bad panic attack that lingered on for days. The doc gave me meds and more meds because I was hyper sensitive to everything and nothing worked. After a traumatic few months of no relief my hair started falling out...

I was just wondering if you can take milk thistle while on medication. Didn't know if it would clear out the meds too. Might not be a good thing...but would love to try it.

I also had horrible hair loss before I was diagnosed. Actually I'm still waiting for some blood results and a biopsy next week. When I started losing hair my doctor ran an ana test and the only thing that came up was celiac. My hair has been falling out since Jan. and it's really upsetting. I hope when I am able to go completely gluten free (after test) that...
