  3. What do you mean by body zaps? I think i may know what you mean. Im on heart medication for a fast and irregular heart beat. If im not on it, sometimes when i try to sleep at night, if my heart is going fast i soon get a headache for some reason. Then, i cant fall asleep because its like some zapping is occuring in a circuit through my body, from my heart...

  7. Hi, I have just been diagnosed with celiac disease, and have been gluten free for not even a week yet. I am very skinny, 103 pounds (47 kg) 5'8. I am a 20yr old female and this is the most i have ever weighed in my life, despite eating very well. I am worried that im going to lose more weight being gluten free because i never feel full or satisfied after...
  8. Are you quite thin? Ive just been diagnosed with celiacs and in the past i have dislocated my knee cap just by doing gentle kicking in the pool, partially dislocated my jaw (it only started out as clicking and locking), and my wrist, just from leaning on it!! I am very thin though due to celiacs, and when i went to the physio he said that because im thin...
  9. I have only been gluten free for like 2 days now, but alot of the time my vision goes abit blurry and unfocused. However,I have had my eyes tested 3 times in the past year and i have 20/20 vision. Its only at random times my eyes seem to see odd. Im keen to see if this goes away!!
  10. Thanks for the ideas. Ive only been gluten free for a day now and am already finding it hard. Please tell me it gets easier?? The gluten free products ive tried are OK but its just not the same. Im getting cranky cos i feel so limited. My doctor is looking into getting me a food subsidy which is good.
  11. Its hard to know what to eat for lunch. Usually i would just have sandwiches and fruit. Im at university all day, so i cant cook. Any ideas?
  12. I have to go on a big shopping spree first cos i dont have much gluten free food. Im also down to see a dietician. Hard to know where to start.
  13. That i do have celiac disease. Everyone thought so due to my really positive blood results, but my biopsies came back positive too I have to ring my specialist tomorrow to discuss it and i am going to the doctors the next day. At least now i know that i can feel better and feeling sick wasnt in my head.
  14. Hey ya. I havnt yet been diagnosed, but i had really positively high blood results for celiac and am waiting on my biopsy results. Im soooo skinny too that its scary. 5'8 103pounds. This is the heaviest ive ever weighed too. I get plenty of calories and have a good appetite, but still dont put weight on, probably because my intestine is so wrecked. The...

    ARCHIVED Menstruation

I never had too much pain but i have extremely heavy periods that caused me to be severly iron deficient. Depo provera helps, but it reduces bone density and i only have a BMI of 15, so abit worried. Because celiac disease causes vitamin deficiencies, i wonder if this may be the reason i dont stop bleeding?
  17. Thanks, im flatting and cooking separate from my flat mates anyway cos ive been trying to put on weight lol
  18. OK, thanks, good to know. Any other opinions?
  19. Hi, I was always a healthy weight up until 12, then i became unbelievably skinny, except i didnt notice this at the time and put it down to puberty lol. However i have been quite badly constipated since 7or 8. I was really anemic at about 15 and had headaches and tiredness all the time. At 16 i started to have heart problems (fast, irregular) and was put...

I should have my results within the next week i guess. If i do have celiac disease, im going to find it hard to not eat out when i go into town etc. I get worried...
  21. Hi everyone, Ive had all sorts of health problems for years, the main ones being fatigued and exhausted, losing weight, and constipation! I was finally refered to a specialist who tested me for celiacs. All i know/all ive been told is that my blood results are: t-Transglutaminase: 164 (thats high i think?) anti-endomysial antibodies: positive I...
