ARCHIVED Allergies To Chicken, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Sunflower... What Can I Eat?
redgf posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have celiac disease, and am very comfortable in my gluten free lifestyle. However a good friend of ours has a three yr old who was diagnosed with more allergies than I can remember, and now they have absolutely no clue what to feed him other than fruit! He is not diagnosed celiac as of yet, but who knows... so he does eat gluten. He is allergic to soy,... -

I meet my hubby at z pizza regularly, as long as I call ahead they always make me a gluten-free pizza! I will tell you it's definitely not comparable to the pizza I used to make at my own shop I ran, but I figure I can't complain - I get to eat at a restaurant that has never contaminated me and enjoy a lunch with my hubby and kids! They do have a number of...

Just adding my two cents here, but I have always had the best luck going on my local grocery store's website, be it Publix or Wegmans or Winn Dixie, and if I don't find a gluten free listing of their store brand products I email them and ask for one.... and I get a new one every six months, just to be sure. That has cut my grocery bills in half - really!...

My advice is to get on the wegman's website or the glutenfreeregistry.com site and get the list of gluten free foods wegman's brand offers. My family lives near a wegman's, I don't, but every time I go up north to visit we get a updated list in advance and I do all my shopping there. And as far as food aisles go, I make tons of different kinds of food at...

ARCHIVED Sardines/shrimp/crawfish : Are They Really Ever Gluten Free?
redgf replied to Woolygimp's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I eat shrimp from my local publix supermarket on a bimonthly basis, and have never been sick from them. I am really really super sensitive to gluten, I actually get sick within a few minutes of eating the stuff. I do devein my shrimp... I also eat tilapia, shark, halibut and haddock on a regular basis and none have made me sick. I do eat canned tuna but no... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Hoisin Sauce, Anyone?!?
redgf replied to awesomeame's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just wanted to let everyone know I went shopping today for hoisin and oyster sauce and found that Kame brand has wheat in both! Guess they have changed ingredients since the earlier post was written.... I am going to try to find some dynasty sauces at our health store! -
Whoa, I never knew that! Explains why I can only stomach tomatoes and potatoes from the whole group, and I cook the heck out of both of them! Thanks for the info!!!! Amazing how much I think I know about food but really don't!

Well, I got one response so far... www.metrobakery.com will make a gluten free wedding cake, starting at 5.50 per person... more than I can spend. We are already married, did it alone, this is for the reception celebration. It's not formal, and I just would rather spend the money on something more fun. I found a local bakery that will make me a beautiful...

Unfortutely I had the same reactions to tomato sauces until I realized if I simmer it for a few hours on the stove or in the crockpot it doesn't affect me. My mom thinks it's because some of the acid cooks out over time... whatever the reason I am glad, it's the only way I can have spaghetti sauce, even home made! Good luck!

ARCHIVED Cheesecake gluten-free
redgf replied to Anne Caird's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I bake using The Gluten Free Pantry's All Purpose Flour, stuff is awesome as far as I'm concerned. My friends never have a clue they are eating gluten free, even desserts! They make many great mixes also, theirs is the only bread mix I have found I like. You can use this flour as an exact replacement usually. -
I would also try different recipes for chili, it can be really nutritious depending on the ingredients. I have been trying to think of what else I ate on a regular basis... chili with black beans and ground beef or ground turkey, quinoa with brown sugar almost every morning, lots of salad with ginger dressings, my husband got a fryer for christmas and made...

I have twin boys, three and a half months old now, and am gluten free too and had to go dairy free while pregnant, also had to watch my sugar intake. I ate TONS of plain rice cakes with peanut butter on them, and ate a bunch of (not so good for you but oh so satisfying) potato chips with homemade sweet mango salsa. My husband is a great cook, and made a lot...

Sweetfudge, You can also try Amy's frozen Gluten-Free pizza. Not exactly restaurant quality, but it can fill the void. I recently found a restaurant locally that serves Gluten-Free pizza, check out glutenfreeregistry.com - has helped me out a good few times! -
ARCHIVED Do I Call Myself A Celiac?
redgf replied to GlutenFree4Life's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I experienced the same things you did, the brighter eyes, smoother skin, my acne went away, no IBS issues, and after two months of eating gluten free I for the first time in seven years weighed over 100 lbs! I have been gluten free for two years now, and am perfectly healthy and "normal" now! My new insurance company did not consider celiac disease... -
I am in need of a gluten free wedding cake in the atlanta area in July, anyone know of one? I really don't want to have to make my cake myself, but I will if I have to!

ARCHIVED Any One In Jacksonville, Fl Or Southern Ga
redgf replied to nothing but nicole's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hey Roxie! I bake all the time, am in the end process of writing my own cookbook, and I use The Gluten Free Pantry's All Purpose Flour in all my recipes. It really acts like good old poisonous flour! It's also nice to only have to buy one flour for all your cooking needs. I have family of five and cook gluten free almost exclusively, feel free to ask me if...
