  1. Good to know! I always wondered what I could use in place of the egg in things like that.
  2. I know exactly how you feel! I had a normal 1st pg but my 2nd pg I developed PE/HELLP. We want another child so bad but I'm so scared of both PE and possibly triggering an autoimmune problem. To complicate things we can only conceive with IVF. I won't tell you how many times I've made the appt with my IVF doctor and cancelled it. I wish I had some words of...
  3. Thanks! I've improved so much in 9 months. Things that went away or improved greatly: upper abdominal pain (bad - my worst symptom) daily headaches constipation hypoglycemia (this was getting quite bad as well - totally gone now!) eczema blood pressure (i got to cut my medication in half) anxiety Still struggling with: acid reflux - not like...
  4. Yes, you are right, it doesn't really matter in the long run. I'm happy to report that I just got retested thru Enterolab and my malabsorption score is normal (<300)! I guess I'm most curious for genetic reasons, and a bit because people don't take me seriously not having actual Celiac. I get everything from "it's just a fad" to "if you tell yourself you...
  5. Hi, Yes, we struggled with infertility. My 3 kids were conceived with lots of help - In-Vitro Fertilization. We have severe male factor problems and they were not able to find anything "wrong" with me, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I have regular periods, ovulation, etc. My eggs were not the greatest quality for being so young (first IVF at ...
  6. Hi all, I just got my newest Enterolab test results back. 9 months ago I tested + for gluten and dairy and severe malabsorption (1279). My new test results show a normal fecal fat score indicating no malabsorption! I was really excited so thought I'd share. I've been so careful with my diet and have not cheated once (intentionally anyway - been glutened...
  7. Thanks again for your reply. So what (if anything) should I tell our primary care docs? I have not told them about our tests, diet, etc. In fact, we haven't been to the dr because we've been so healthy.
  8. Thank you all. This is really interesting. Especially since one of my children ( i have 3 ) has a such a strong gluten reaction. She had daily stomach aches and headaches and they went away overnight on the gluten-free diet. I didn't have her gene test done but we did igg testing and it showed gluten/dairy reaction. The other 2 don't have symptoms but I had...
  9. I get this too, it's not horrible or anything but i notice it every morning. It usually goes away 15 min or so after getting up. I had it before i went gluten free and going gluten-free has not changed it.
  10. These results are not new, I got them about 9 months ago so I've been on a gluten/dairy free diet since then. I just assumed i wasn't celiac from the gene results but could i still have celiac with these genes? Fecal Antigliadin IgA 58 (Normal Range <10 Units) Fecal Antitissue Transglutaminase IgA 28 Units (Normal Range <10 Units)...
  11. OK, I"m still fairly new to this diet being only a few months into it. I've been on such a good streak though, havn't been sick since Thanksgiving. Then I had to go and make cookies last night using Rice Dream, after all, it says Gluten Free right on the label! I usually use hemp milk but I was out. I'm so dang sick today and it's the only thing different...
  12. The label says gluten free on it but I'm wondering if it's also dairy and soy free? I think I may be reacting to it but sometimes it's so hard to pinpoint what's making me sick. Ingredients: WATER, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, AND FD&C YELLOW 5. AVAILABLE SIZE I mixed it with palm shortening, salt and yellow food coloring to make a gfcfsf...
  13. That's interesting. Both my daughter and I reacted twice to this syrup. We are fine when we have pure maple syrup.
  14. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I do love sesame oil, but it doesn't quite have that salty taste I'm craving with my asian food. I'm not sure if I've ever tried the toasted kind so I will look for that. I don't think the La Choy will work for me becasue of the soy protein, but thanks for the suggestion! That recipe for the mock soy sauce sounds...
  15. I'm gluten and soy free so sadly tamari won't work for me either. My dh is asian so I cook a lot of asian food and I really miss that soy sauce taste. Does anyone have any ideas of either a product that's out there or something I could make that would resemble this flavor? Thanks a lot.
  16. I was debating between these two companies a few months ago (although I was looking into the 96 food allergy blood test at Optimum) and I went with Enterolab because I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and Optimum got a grade "F" and has 85 complaints against it. I'm really happy with what I got from Enterolab.
  17. I don't have celiac, "just" gluten intolerance. I tested negative on the celiac blood tests, but I tested positive through Enterolab stool testing and also through Elisa food allergy blood testing. I also found out I'm allergic to dairy, eggs and soy (and banans, almonds and garlic). This all started after the birth of my third child 3 years ago. I had/have...
  18. The cookies are delicious, so soft and cakey the way I like them. I did something wrong though as they are so soft they fall apart when you pick them up. I couldn't roll out the dough because the dough was too sticky. I think I must have added too much liquid with the egg replacer. The palm shortening is softer than margerine also so that may have affected...
  19. Ok, so I just made the dough. I don't have any lemons, but I had all the other ingredients so I made them almond flavor. The dough is chilling in the fridge but my oh my I can't keep my finger out of the bowl. haha. I used the egg replacer with extra water and instead of margarine (i can't have soy) I used Spectrum palm shortening. So far so good, I'll...
  20. Thanks!! I will try this! Do you think it's ok to use egg replacer? I can't have eggs.
  21. I am in love with Nana's No Gluten Cookies, especially the lemon. They are so expensive though. Does anyone have a recipe that compares to these? I would love you forever! Soft, cakey, and I love that they are sweetened with fruit juice instead of cane sugar.
  22. Thanks all! I do like the suggestion to eat saturated fat and meats. Since starting this diet, I crave meat and fat. I will eat a whole avadaco in one sitting. Yes, I have put on a few pounds. My family looks at me so strange now because before the diet I used to be semi-vegetarian, but now I pile on the meat. I thought it would be overkill to eat meat...
  23. So it's been about 2 months of my gluten, dairy, egg and soy free diet. I have definately had many positive reactions to the diet (less stomach aches, no more reflux, better mood mostly, fingernails and toenails growing out healthy and strong, lower blood pressure, less anxiety) but it's been so hard. I don't feel satisfied when I eat. I feel like i keep...
  24. Thanks all! Feeling pretty good today as the family let me sleep in till 9:00. I would like to get the vitamin testing done in the near future, there's just some insurance issues I have to work out first. I'm seeing a naturopath that's not covered by insurance so I'm paying out of pocket. I have an appt in a few days so I will ask him about that. I'll look...
  25. I am about a month into my Gluten-free Casein-free diet. I've started feeling much less abdominal pain and better digestion. But I am soooo tired. I've never been a very tired person, never took naps, etc. but now I can't seem to get the energy to do anything. I just want to lay on the couch and sleep ( i have 4 small kids so not really an option!). What...
