  1. Its not so much that I want a "Celiac" diagnosis. I just want someone to say "Oh yes, this is the problem. Now do this." Instead I'm getting a lot of "It may be this. We don't know, but you could try this." I just don't want to go on this diet and then in 3 months when/if I'm still suffering hear "Oh well we could start testing for this or that." I work in...
  2. Oh ok. I suppose I should have included them myself. So thank you Nora, if you were trying to make it easier for people to get the big picture. I'm just cranky, frustrated, fatigued and done with being sick without an explanation.
  3. I'm sorry was my post too long?, am I posting too much? I thought I could come here for questions and advice while I am going through this roller coaster of getting a diagnosis. Sorry if I'm invading the board.
  4. So I saw a specialist last Friday. He was not satisfied with the test performed by my regular GI since at that time we weren't really looking for Celiac. So another round of tests. He wants me to load up on gluten until next week when he will repeat the endoscopy (using the longer scope and taking many, many biopsies), repeat the blood test (through his lab...
  5. The rash I get looks nothing like the pictures of DH I see online. Its more like a cross between hives and eczema. It has been diagnosed as eczema by my old PCP. I will ask the specialist if he feels its worthy of a biopsy.
  6. I'm interested to see what the GI specialist says. If he suggests going gluten free, I will. I want to get to the root of the problem.

  8. Yes, I suppose you are right. The reason I want a firm diagnosis is because I am having gastric bypass surgery done at the end on july. I want to be sure I am treating the right problems. I think I will give the diet a shot if nopthing else pops up as a possibility.
  9. 27yo female with a family history of celiac in aunt and grandmother (on same side of family). I have had chronic diarrhea and general GI troubles like bloating, pain, reflux, constant belching, my whole life. I was diagnosed as bein lactose intolerant as an infant so I always associated my issues with lactose. Since my youngest son was born 18 months ago...
  10. The boys labs were done at the Mayo clinic.
  11. Yeah, I wish the kids doctor would have ordered the test through Prometheus. I am anxious for my results. I had the blood drawn on the 3rd but as I understand it the blood has to get to cali (from Boston), be processed in , and then tested so it can take some time. Is the biopsy I had enough to serve as a diagnosis if if the blood is negative? What are the...
  12. Ok thanks a bunch!
  13. Thanks for the information. I should be getting my lab results from prometheus soon... This will include the whole pannel including genetics. I would be surprised if they aren't positive since my biopsy seems to be positive and I have several symptoms including extreme iron and vitamin defficiencies. So if you think 3.0 U is borderline what would a positive...
  14. I guess that would help huh?.........I'll edit
  15. I just picked up the lab reports for my two sons. I have no idea what to make of them. Any help would be appreciated! 16. The diagnoses portion just states GASTRITIS, HIATAL HERNIA I guess its not in the diagnose section because the report stes clinical correlation is reccommended. I should also mention this gastroscopy was NOT done to diagnose Celiac. I was being tested for Reflux. We are only exploring the possibility of celiac after the biopsy results. Looking at it now...
  17. I had a biopsy done and the nurse practitioner at my gastrointerologist suspects celiac based on my symptoms and the results. She did order the blood test just for correlation. The results of the blood tests are not in yet but this is what the biopsy report says 1. DUODENAL BIOPSY - DUODENAL MUCOSA WITH FOCALLY INCREASED INTRAEPITHELIAL LYMPHOCYTES...
