  1. I will be in Ningbo. I hear there is a Metro and Carrefour. Any suggestions? Not to far from Shanghai, may have to venture there. Jessica
  2. My husband and I are moving to China next week (Ningbo) so I recently purchased the "Triumph Dining Cards" (Triumphdining.com). They are suppose to be in mandarin and describe the types of chinese food that you can and cannot have, specific to the culture. I haven't gotten them yet, but will post when they arrive. They may be helpful for you.
  3. I was concered about that too, as I will be using them internationally and don't want to come off as some stupid foreigner. I searched all over and could not find the text anywhere online (understandable I guess). So I went ahead and ordered them (just now). I will post when I receive them and let you know. I ordered the set of different languages/cuisines...
  4. I'm taking an international flight from the US to Shanghai, China (with two layovers in Canada). Other than the "no liquids" thing, is there any other specific food items that I cannot bring? Like Fruit? I think I'll be sticking to mostly prepackaged food. And I am referring to carry-on by the way (We will be traveling for two days). I'll remember to...
  5. Thanks Beth. I've stocked up on things like beef jerky and dried fruit/trail mix, but it may be nice to eat some "real food" during those ten hours. I found that list of restaurants online too, but they all have canadian e numbers (I'm in the US). Anybody out there ever eaten at those? I'll try to look them up online, I have only ever heard of a few of...
  6. This seems like the only place I can really post this - sorry if its a little off topic.. My husband and I have a 10 hour layover in Vancouver Airport (YVR). Does anyone know if any of the many restaurants have any good gluten free stuff, other than reverting to the order of steamed veggies, no seasoning? Also, I too will be bringing some gluten...
  7. Hi all! I'm moving to Ningbo next month. Wondering if there is anyone else in that area (its a few hours south of Shanghai, Zhejiang Provence). I'm mostly concerned about eating out and "hidden" ingredients at the grocery store. I do not read any Chinese, so I'm concerned about reading labels. I guess we'll just stick to whole foods, meats and veggies...
  8. I saw it too!! I know it's strange, but I got so excited!!! I was actually googling kenmore so I could call or email them and tell them that I appreciated the placement, you know, create more awareness, and I found this thread... So I actually called the customer service number (I couldn't find an email address) and thanked them for the product placement...
