  1. Sorry for another poll. I really appreciate the answers to such a sensitive issue. There has been some links between celiac disease and the correlation of eating disorders, however, this has been far under researched and that needs to be rectified. Thank you for you answers and feel free to share you personal experience or opinion as this will help to...
  2. This is a poll to get an idea for psychological research that is badly needed on the psychological issues and workings of celiac disease and further make clear that it is not simply a gastrological disease. Thank you for your help! Sorry, if you stayed the same just reply and right "stayed the same" Otherwise for your body shape and size you either...

  4. Everytime I have gluten I get so hungry that i can't stop eating. When i have no gluten at all anywhere than I am barely even hungry, does anyone else experience this. I gain 20 pounds in 1 month this way.
  5. I am getting additional food allergie tests and am wondering what kind of allergies or intolerances people experience other than the usual casein/soy/egg.
  6. Steamed Rice is often given a sticky consistency by adding vinegars, sugars and other such things to it. If you look at packages for a lot of prepared sushi rice packages you will see the there are some horrid things in there that just shouldn't be.
  7. Everything you described is exactly what i feel after eating gluten. Really dizzy and really nauseated and my arms get heavy and i know that i wouldn't make it walking around the block. This is how i discovered that someone sold me the wrong iron supplement that wasn't gluten-free. Listen to what your body tells you, it will definitly let you know when...

  9. Actually, I saw this study published in canadian and american newspapers and can be found on yahoo.ca under birth month, celiac disease. The months for celiac disease predisposition were the summer months; june, july and august. So here goes a new poll!
  10. Does anyone know of any gluten-free accomadating restaurants in Windsor, On other than Swiss Chalet or Red Lobster. We have company coming, I have just started going gluten-free and i don't want to be poisoned. But my aunt is allergic to seafood and we don't like swiss chalet. Thanks
  11. I have been trying to go gluten free for three weeks and i never get farther than 6 days. This time my naturopath reccommended Udo's Beyond GReens which is fantastic but loaded with gluten. Then when i thought i had that covered the lady at the nutrition store gave me the non gluten free version of liquid iron. So i am in hell again and i am so tired...
  12. Thank you so much for that. That is what i thought and i wasn't sure. This is an Udo's product and he has expressed some research into the safety of his products for celiacs. However he didn't discuss it directly for this product so i was not sure. Magdalena
  13. When i am glutened, even a little bit, i can't even get the energy to get off the floor for days. I need to excercise because of my energy and my mood. I get severly depressed without movement. I am only 20, does anybody have advice for coping with this. Magdalena, On, Canada
  14. These ar great iron supplements but be careful because Floravit is the gluten-free version. I asked the lady to give me the gluten-free and she gave me the Floradix and i got really sick. The whole base is made of wheat germ!!! Magdalena, ON, Canada
  15. This is in Udo's Greens which i have to take. Since these are the grasses and not the grains is it ok? Magdalena, ON, Canada
  16. My doctors don't seem to have a clue what this is but i have really dry, flaky, elephant skin elbows. I get these mysterious bumps, sometimes puss filled. Occasionally they are large, but mostly small ones in a circular pattern, this happens around my knees also. When i was younger, the inside of my elbows used to break out like this in crazy burning....
  17. I went to the Pharmacy. DIANE-35 is gluten-free and it is amazing for your face tooo!!! Great!
  18. Hi, The parallel you may want to make between your own feelings and those of a person with celiac disease is this; Imagine if you had the most horrible PMS you have ever had. Then add to that some of the symptoms of the flu. Add some of the symtpoms of a severe allergy like congestion and tickling. Then wrap it all up with a major hangover and what seems...
  19. I have eaten Canadian Jello, but i ate suger-free and it made me very sick. I wanted to throw up while i was eating it. Magdalena, ON, CDA
  20. I can't find any info on the coating on this product. I was wondering if anybody knows if this birth control is gluten free and if not what about the others? Magdalena, ON, CDA
  21. Usually when you have a food allergy such as celiac disease, you get horrible cravings such as food addiction almost. This is because gluten is made of a sequence of opium molecules that when not digested work much like Morphine and cause brain activity. As we all know these are highly addictive substances. So don't be a wheat junkie and fight it. Magdalena...
  22. Fruit is a problem usually when youu have celiac disease induced damage in your body. While this damage is still there you may have Leaky Gut Syndrome which some people may tell you is IBS. The damage causes a problem with digesting either fructose sugar or carbs that ar in fruits and undigested sugars whether simple or complex cause gas in your intestines...
  23. If your Anitbodies (IgA's) are elevated, even though your biopsy is negative you should go on a gluten free diet as stringently as if you had full blown celiac disease. One cause may be that you are in the beginning stages of celiac disease and may not have sinificant damage yet. The other is that your body is obviously not assimilating wheat and you may...
