About Me

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease on 1/24/08. I had no idea what that was for about a week. I went Gluten-Free sometime in the next month.

  1. Hey, I'm John. I am also a sophomore in high school. I live in Superior, which is by Boulder. I think that is only about 45 minutes away. I've been a celiac for just over a year.
  2. Sorry about that, I guess that I said the wrong word...
  3. Ok, thanks you guys. I know that he is really nervous because he has seen the way that I have to eat. I have even let him try some of my gluten-free bread. He spit it out, ha. I have been trying to explain what it is like, but I have only had it for 8ish months. I am not too experienced yet.
  4. I was wondering how everyone reacts when they are first diagnosed. I have a friend that might be diagnosed with celiac disease, and he was asking me how he might react. Personally I liked to sit in the corner and cry. What did you guys do? I need to tell him some ideas of how he could act. I don't think that he realizes that he can act anyway he wants to...
  5. The part about being tired is completely natural. I am not sure about the eating one though. When I was diagnosed, I barely ate anything. I had no appetite. There are a few more that you might want to know. If you are coming off of gluten and dairy at once, it is exactly like coming off of drugs. Everything seems to be louder, brighter, more annoying, all...
  6. That looks very good. Thanks for posting it.
  7. That sounds good. Ever since I got diagnosed, I have been craving a Chipotle burrito with the soft warm shell. But that is pretty much all I crave.
  8. Yep. They came out with them a couple months ago at the Chipotle in Louisville, Colorado. I'm not sure if they have them other places.
  9. Has anyone tried the soft corn shells at Chipotle? I have had the hard ones before, and they are fine. I just want to know if anyone has had results with the soft corn. Thanks.
  10. If you want a hot dog that is ok, try the Hebrew National. I never have problems with those.
  11. I would have to say that it was the fries. When the fries were fryed, they were most likely in the same fryer with the evil gluten.
  12. I always go to the Chipotle in Louisville, Colorado and have never had a problem. When we walk in, they just change their glove and wash their hands. We even know the managers now because of us being their so much. I would highly recomend going to that one.
  13. That is very true. It starts out hard, but gets easier.
