  3. Yeah its hard i take whole foods to my room and store it in a plastic box from freds. We had separate cabinets to store our food in and it worked out. You could get a cattle prong and zap them if they get into your food.

  5. Simple, 3 meals balanced with starches, proteins, veggies. This will make you feel better and give you the energy you need. Its like a fire, if you load up a fire all at once it dies and burns poorly, but if you feed it the right amount it burns hot and long. Im no expert on whats going on inside so this is just an idea that i have.
  6. Im a resident, but a college transplant my parents live north of fairbanks by a few hours. I don't know the name but if i had a face i might.
  7. im experienced and im no noob to room mates. I just put the idea out to see if anyone in Fairbanks would since its cost so much for the food here, bulk orders are easier with other people. I just don't want a mini-kitchen I lived in a cabin with one and they suck. The school doesn't have to provide accommodations, the kitchen is ok and they will provide food...
  8. i just go into the kitchen open a cupboard and stare until something pops out or i have the urge to consume what ever is in front of me. When Im out of town chips are my friend, i usual eat a family size bag a day along with what ever i see at the store when Im shopping for food. Also crunch and munch is great that fills me a bit until something else looks...
  9. Ok so Im a current student at University Alaska Fairbanks and this is for all celiacs and gluten-wheat free people who are current and future students of UAF. Since I have been living with the normal people and noticed that I have been getting sick due to the fact someone has been using my mayo and smearing it all over wonder bread and violating my mayo....

  12. Oh I have to be the happiest celiac disease college student in America! Well the other day was my birthday and my mom and dad live out in the bush above the arctic circle in a village. So I get this call saying that I have a cake at the runway for me to pick up. She sent a fresh cake on a bush plane so that I can have a b-day cake, Woot!

  14. yeah I called my school and they said that they do, but Im a skeptic and don't want to eat rice and chicken everyday. So I gona check Monday and see whats on the menu.

  16. Wooh so we are special, so does that mean we get benefits i.e. scholarships for being celiac?
  17. Its best to find places you can go and so that its not awkward ordering food, a few of the dates I have been on went well but most of them didn't understand. That is right on confidence in your lifestyle and don't think or say I wish I didn't have this, heck I'm happy that I'm one of the few. I don't date much but I do want to date a celiac and that would...
  18. it takes me a few seconds and i feel like crap for a week.
  19. Open Original Shared Link Yeah i found this and think it would be cool to have since its a true statement, now i want to watch that movie.
  20. rice cooker is a nice idea, I live in a dry cabin and that would make cooking easier then making a huge mess and all. I always wanted to meet up with others and see what they are doing with it, one can get very inventive on a college budget.
  21. You cannot focus too! Holy poop i got the same thing i go around life in a haze and i used to be able to sit and focus on something for hours and figure it out, not i just space out after 10 minutes or less. I think that the gluten messes with my mind since my body is going into a craze. I avoid gluten like a fire and when i do get a little back to massive...
  22. Yeah Im in the same boat up here in Fairbanks at the U I cannot find anyone who is in the same boat to hangout with. I found that they have to meet your needs but that means they can charge max for just rice and chicken, What i suggest is to find a group of people that have celiac rent a place thus making life better.
