  1. I've been cooking foods in olive oil and taking fish and vitamin supplements, I suppose it just hasn't been able to fully absorb yet.

    Hang in there buddy.

I have had a bald spot on the top of my head since my 20s and it is filling in with new hair. I am in my 40's now. The guys who cuts my hair keeps asking what tonic I am using...!

I have been off gluten for just about a year.....

    :)

  2. Thanks for the info. I didn't get to go to the picnic due to the dizzyness. I thought I was going to fall over. It's better now. It feels like every time I get accidentally "glutened" the symptoms are so much worse. I can handle the D but NOT the Vertigo. That is horrible. I never had symptoms like that before.:( I hope it does not come back again.

My Friend works at Outback and (he's one of the cooks) When my food came back to him it said on the ticket. Gluten FREE. He asked the other cooks "what does that mean." Alot of people even the cooks at restaurants just think people can't have wheat and thats it. I was kinda mad he didn't know how to handle the food. The managers need to educate their staff on food safety and allergies. I can't complain too much at least they have a menu for us. :)

I was at a meeting at work yesterday and thought I could get away with eating the contents of two chicken salad wraps (wheat). There were crutons (wheat) in the chicken salad, which I removed...I thought. The graded cheese (I am casein sensitve) did not help. This morning I felt so sick. I have had several bouts of loose stool, awful muscle aches, ringing in the ears, and extreme fatigue. Had to call in sick today. Lesson learned...

  3. Hi,

I am new to the site and believe that I have Celiac or at least gluten sensitiviety. I went off gluten in the spring and began to feel a whole lot better. I had some real bad digestive problems (oily, bad smelling stool) and some dizziness that had plagued me for years. I went to several docators who just shook their heads. One even said that I was healthier than he was...

Since getting off gluten, I have felt great and have much improved digestion even after just a few months. No more smelly BM. Weird things is that my hair is getting darker and shinier on the top of my head and there is new hair growth on my beard and body. Seems like I might be going through another round of puberty at 40+???

I resumed eating gluten for about 1.5 weeks ahead of a blood test for Celiac. My digestive symptoms came back pretty quick but have since subsided. The blood test was negative for Celiac. I understand that I probably needed to go back on gluten for 3+ months but I am unwilling to part with my improving health. I am planning on having the Enterolab series. My question is if I inadvertantly consume gluten how much damage would be done if, in fact, I have Celiac. Could I completely heal my intestines after a year and then screw it all up and go back to the beginning with one slip? How careful do I have to be???

    :S

  4. Hi,

I am new to the site and I am awaiting test results for Celiac.

I have ~70% of the symptoms and I would be utterly surprised if they don't find the disease.

I went three months gluten free. Wow, did I feel great!! My stomach straightened out, my mind cleared, and my dizziness and unsteady gait improved.

Interestingly, I noticed marked hair growth (thickening) and darkening of my beard. Weird! My wife said that she noticed the same.

I had to start eating gluten again for the blood test and my symptoms have returned.

    :S

has anyone else noticed extreme hair growth and/or overall healthy hair since going gluten-free? i thought it was just my imagination but so many people have commented on how long my hair has gotten in recent months. i've also noticed how straight and shiny it's been lately too. i wonder how long the growth spurt will last? since it's growing like a weed, i've decided if i'm going to chop it off i may as well donate it to Locks of Love.

there are just so many good things about being gluten free!! :D
