  1. I rent a townhouse. The owner called me today and stated that the Homeowners Association Board is asking everyone for a copy of their front door key. Apparently they cited some obscure by-law that says for "saftey" reasons, in case they need to get in there and no one is at home, they get to have a copy of everyones house keys. This seems fishy to me. I dont...

    ARCHIVED Thyroid

I was just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with Thyroid Nodules, and if it is related to Celiac. I have not been very true to my diet. (I am weak. I know this.) Anyway, recently a doctor noticed that I had several cysts on my Thyroid. I had a sonogram done, and lab work. The lab came back normal. The sonogram showed 7 med to large nodules...
  3. Hi there Prudence. I'm in Sarasota too! :)

  4. I've never had shingles. However, one of my clients just recently had his 3rd episode. He tried accupuncture this last time, and swore by it. He was telling me, that he never would have believed it, but was in so much pain he'd try anything. He mentioned that before it took 6 months to recover, using "traditional" therapy. This last time he tried accupuncture...
  5. Whelp, I am still trying to get my arms around the diet. So I have been making big meals that I can eat off of for a while. Mainly turkey and chicken. I always have a green veggie as a side. Sometimes I'll add a potatoe. I'm usually in a rush in the mornings, so I skip breakfast, but I always did. Snacks are generally fruit or nuts. I'd eat more red meat...
  6. I was diagnosed about 2 months ago. I have been sticking to the gluten free diet for the past 6 weeks. I understand that weight loss, after diagnosis, is common. My concern is that I have lost 17 pounds in just the past 3 weeks, and I'm not even trying to lose weight. I did need to lose a bit of weight, so I'm not really complaining, I am just concerned...
  7. I found this post to be really interesting. I was recently diagnosed, and I am still amazed with how many symptoms this illness encompasses. I can spot down the line all the symptoms that not only have applied to me, but also my sister and mother. My eldest sister was diagnosed with IBS, and Bi-polar disorder. Neither diagnosis has ever sat well with me....
  8. I know what you mean. Most of the time that I accidently eat Gluten, I will have at least D. But not always the violent reaction I mentioned before, which is why it was bugging me. I'm just glad to know that other people have had similar reactions, albeit not every time they eat gluten. I hope this helps.
  9. I am not sure if this will help at all, esp since I am an adult. When I eat gluten, I generally pay for it for 24 to 48 hours afterwards before the D and nausea goes away. It takes about 3 days before my energy lifts back to normal. If its been a week, I'd call the doctor, just to be safe. It may just take longer with children...
  10. Thank you for the post Happygirl. Its sort of a relief to know that these espisodes are related to the Celiac, and not some other condition I'd have to worry about. Its also depressing. I guess I have been trying to figure out a way to cheat now and then, but its just not possible. Its also a huge relief to know that I'm not the only one that this has been...
  11. I was diagnosed this past August with Gluten Intolerance (the blood test for Celiac being inconclusive). Anyway, since I have been on the diet change, I have been doing much better. Its been a major adjustment for me to avoid eating gluten, and sometimes I mess up. When I have eaten Gluten, I usually pay for it for the next 24 hours with the usual symptoms...
