I asked how they could make such a claim with barley in their ingredient list. They responded explaining that their product contains barley grass which is gluten free and not barley.     Thanks so much for this post. I was actually thinking of purchasing it as they do advertise it as gluten-free on their website. But, I clearly had not scrutinized the label closely enough!

    Take a look at Nutiva Superfood Shake. It's certified gluten-free and I think the vanilla tastes pretty good.

    Check out Nutiva Organic Plant Protein, Sunwarrior protein powders or Amazing Grass Protein.

    Check out Vitamin Cottage. It is my absolute favorite. It's like Whole Foods but without all the bells and whistles. As a result their prices are much better.

    Did you ever have any luck in contacting San Marco about their chipotle peppers in adobo sauce? I just bought a jar. And, while all of the ingredients listed appear safe, none of the other brands seemed to be gluten free. So, I just wanted to confirm its status.

    And another big jar of Kirkland Signature Organic Salsa that I called about 3 weeks ago and haven't received a return call on. Argh. I hate making phone calls. I really hate making them twice.
