  1. anyone have any experience with this kidney disease in children? my dearest friend's eight year old is spilling blood and proteins and had a biopsy to confirm this disease. His urine looks like coke a cola. SO THEY SAY diet doesn't do anything, but with all our experience with celiac and DH, I am SO not going to swallow that one. Any help would be appreciated...
  2. did you ever get any info about this?? i need the same answers myself
  3. My son was dry for almost two years, but has been consistently wetting his bed for almost three now. Everyone says he is just a hard sleeper and can't wake up, but I am not convinced. My husband has just been unofficially diagnosed with DH, and gluten free for three weeks with great success. Now that I know what to look for, I believe a few of my kids...
  4. not sure if you got any more info on this or not, i was just going thru some old posts. i have/had patches on my butt. not pleasant, but yes, i believe they can be on your buttocks. all my tests were negative because i was glutenfree and on prednisone. the genetic marker test from the university of chicago celiac center was a HUGE help. checkit out,...
  5. I get lesions on my face, they peel like i have had sunburn. pretty sure it is dh and not hives. check out the SCD diet and consider that for a good month. symptoms will usually go away when the gut has had time to really rest and heal up. hope that helps.
  6. Go gluten free and see what happens. Get the book "the gluten connection" by dr. sheri leiberman. The best thing to do is the SCD diet. Google it on this forum and you will find good info on it. ADHD is very much connected to diet, especially gluten.. Lots of negative blood panels occur. ALL MY BLOOD tests have been negative. Do a saliva swab test...
  7. get the book "the gluten connection" by Dr. Sheri Leiberman. It explains that Malt flavoring has the same effects as glutten, because it is in the same family. So I haven't found a cereal yet that doesn't add malt flavoring, even if it is corn based. So I stick to eggs!! Cream of Rice is a great breakfast alternative too, taste great with a little raw...
  8. I would totally say this is DH, which means you have celiac. Try the gluten free diet and usually within 2-4 weeks you will know if it is working. My DH was/is so bad that I had it from head to tow. Within 10 days I saw the inflamation going down, within 18 days the itch lessened. Nothing to loose! Try it and see. take care
  9. Yep, sorry to break it to you, but the only cure for DH and celiac is a gluten free diet. When were you diagnosed? because it appears you haven't done much research on what gluten really is. There is not way to get around it. Honestly, the longer you wait to go gluten free the more problem are going to start popping up. Please consider it, many of us...
  10. Hi Joe, just curious what you do for a living, possibly you are exposed to environmental things. THE DH is miserable, and I found that enviornmental stuff super cause flare ups.
  11. thanks, that clarifies things a lot. It has been 8 months that I have been really bad, but can look back and see small flare ups throughout my life. I haven't been working for two months, and the prior three months have been on limited hours. I am in the technology field, so it requires intense concentration. The short term disability was easy enough...
  12. what do you mean by CC. Sorry, this is all still so new to me. I read your response about the negative biopsy, and had a couple questions about that. I had regular celiac panel blood work done,,, negative. I have been gluten free for 3 weeks now and it is helping, will that cause a biopsy and other blood work to be negative? I need some confirmation...
  13. I am not sure where your doc got the figures of 1 in 10,000 for your child to have celiac, but the University of Chicago Celiac Center gives the figure of 1 in 22 with an immediate family member with the disease. Their website is helpful on obtaining the genetic saliva swab test. Open Original Shared Link I would very much go and get your whole family...
  14. looking for advice on scarring help with darker skin. also, wondering about hot and dry climates or cold, or humid, etc. etc. if there is a better climate to live in? my skin is so severe that I hope the Gluten free diet will do the trick, but will move if i have to. thank you kindly Open Original Shared Link
  15. I want to post some pics? But can't figure it out, can anyone help me?
  16. Here's what Elaine says. In relation to probiotics (and probiotics are the main reason for making/eating the SCD yogurt): "If you are not on SCD and are sending loads and loads of fermentable carbs down to the colon as most people are... the probiotic bacteria/ae will just make things worse. That is why I think it is so positively awful for the Crohn's and...
  17. taking probiotics can actually do the opposite of what you are looking to accomplish. I will find the link and get back to you. shannon
  18. I agree with RICEGUY, eliminate both dairy and gluten. In fact do the SCD eating , it is really easy, eat fruits, veggies and meat. It explains this in the book, THE GLUTEN CONNECTION. hope you find some good answers to your questions. We found the allergists not to be much help.
  19. Get the book "The Gluten Connection" it will explain all of the IgA etc, etc. connection and why so many testing is negative. It will tell you exactly what test to do and where to send it. It has been a life saveer for me. You really have to be your own diagnostic doctor to a certain extent. The general medical world is really under educated about gluten...
  20. I have unconfirmed DH and celiac, i am just waiting for labs to come back. i am sure it is the case. i am only 35 and my body is covered from head to tow with zero flexibility, when i turn my head I crack and bleed. my wife has to dress me. i started to gluten-free diet and it is helping. I have a meriad of issues related to this and am wondering if...
