  1. This will sound horrible, but I'm so glad to hear that someone else has such a long delay... it generally takes me 24-48 hours to get good and sick (though I'll be moody immediately). -Jamie -(-* Antibody negative, January 2009 Doctor diagnosed "either celiac disease or IBS-GS" January 2009 Doctor diagnosed "IBS-GS" January 2009 Self-diagnosed...
  2. Hmm, I hadn't heard of that correlation (but then, I only know one other coeliac/gluten-free). I actually don't know how I react to oats; I didn't eat them that much before I knew that it was gluten beating me up, and I've been unwilling to test out what will make me ill or not, because life won't slow down for long enough for me to be ill. I might...
  3. That's very true... I guess I've become really distrustful in the whopping 6 months it's been. :\ Hmm... I hadn't heard that. I guess being tummy ill because of an alternative flour (no bean flour in what I ate) and being generally blah could look like I'd been glutened. Thanks, -Jamie Self-dagnosed January 2009 via elimination diet and challenge...
  4. Hey all, Okay, so I searched the forum and only really found posts from 2-3 years ago, so I'm hoping something has changed. Has anyone recently been glutened by Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flours? I was so excited to see them in Wal*Mart that I bought a bag of pizza crust mix, a bag of biscuit mix, and a bag of cookie mix. I had some pizza last night...
  5. I'm so jealous! I'm new to Cocoa Beach, and the gluten-free selection here is pitiful. I've actually found good luck with Wal*Mart, for crying out loud, because they've gone to the trouble of getting all of their non-gluten-containing stuff tested and marked gluten-free. *wanders over to the support group board, a new thing to her...* -Jamie Self...
  6. Chipotle is awesome! I was visiting San Mateo / San Francisco for a conference and had heard good things about Chipotle, so I stopped in... I asked the gentleman behind the counter to change his gloves because of a food allergy; he did and very thoroughly washed his hands, then asked what type. I said "wheat" (yes, I know, but I don't find barley, rye,...
  7. I just wanted to thank all of you for your opinions and reassurance... I didn't realise, really, that anxiety/depression could both be caused by gluten and happen that quickly. I also didn't realise that 30% of CDs have false negatives! Wow! It turns out that I do, indeed, have celiac disease (not only did I have the anxiety/depression/crankiness...
  8. Hello, all-- I ran across this board during a search for tips/help/opinions on the elimination/challenge and am hoping that someone might have an opinion that could help me out. I apologise in advance for some TMI and the length of this post. I'm a fairly large 23yo girl. I've always been big, but 2 springs ago, out of nowhere, I put on 60 pounds...
