  1. So I've been gluten free for about 7 weeks. I've been dealing with my actual eyes being overly dry for about two years, but about 10 weeks ago my eyelids and the inner part of the bottom of my eye have been really really dry and occasionally itch. I have a tendency to rub my eyes alot when I get tired and the more I mess with my eyes the more scaley they...
  2. So I was thinking about painting my nails yesterday and relized I have no idea what I can use. Does anyone know of nail polish brands that are easy to find and ok to use? I've never really paid attention to what stores carry what brands so now I find myself going to four stores to find one thing. Any help would be awesome, thanks.
  3. Duncan Heinz (sp?) frosting is all gluten free except for one kind and I believe it's a coconut type one. Their white regular frosting is amazing.
  4. I went to the store last night and bought a coffee grinder and it worked awesome for making rice flour. I got to looking online and saw that kitchenaid makes an attachment mill for their mixers, and then found actual kitchen mills/grinders for wet and dry grains (so i could make soy flour too). Does anyone have experience with either of these? I was looking...
  5. Does anyone know if the Schnuck's Store Brand of block and shredded cheese is ok? I checked the label and it seems to be ok but I am pretty new at checking labels. Thanks.
  6. Thanks Guess I'll be buying a coffee grinder here soon and testing it out.
  7. Just came across this recipe. They might have other ones as well that would work for halloween. Open Original Shared Link
  8. What does it mean to mill your own flour? I have been looking for a way to make flour less expensive.
  9. I had never even heard of celiac til I got tested for it. I was going to doctors for dry eyes and lightheadedness along with being tired and not very energized. They always passed me off to another doctor to do this or that, but all with the same result....tests came out just fine. It wasn't till my dad got diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency that we found...
  10. I've been using the rice flours because I found a good bread recipe with just the brown and white rice flours. All of the other recipes seem to have tapioca flour in them, and I can't handle the taste of the tapioca flour. Is their a way to substitute for the tapioca? Does the sorghum have a strong taste to it, and does it work to replace both white and...
  11. I just got diagnosed about 2 weeks ago and I would highly recommend the gluten free shopping guide. I don't know what I would do without it. https://www.celiac.com/catalog/product_info...products_id=802 It makes shopping so much easier when you don't know how to read labels yet. Also, walmart brand products will either say gluten free on the back...
  12. Thanks for the help! I had no idea the white rice flour could last indefinently in the freezer, that is good to know.
  13. I am two weeks into the gluten lifestyle and finding it quite expensive. I just came up with an awesome bread recipe and am in the process of trying out more recipes. However, so much flour is used in them that I've been looking for a way to buy rice flour in bulk. So far I've found it comes in 50lb. bags. Does anyone know how long white and brown rice...
  14. I just found out I am Celiac about a week ago. I have ran all of my kitchen stuff through the dishwasher and hand washed them, but not replaced them. I keep my sugars and flours in plastic containers and we use plastic bowls also. Do I really need to throw them all away or is putting them through the dishwasher enough?
