  1. Does anyone out there have any restaurant suggestions in the Albany or Kingston New York areas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for your information everybody. We will probably head down to Rissoteria. From what I have heard, it is the best for gluten-free in New York.
  3. I am spending tomorrow in New York City for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Does anyone out there know of anywhere nearby that has gluten free food? (I am a vegeterian too!)
  4. I have eaten the heartland pasta several times. It was excellent. I normally eat tinkyada but I got free samples of heartland at my support group. I would definitely buy it again, it cooked up al dente and even my gluten loving kids loved it. I think it would be great in a casserole!
  5. When I am away for a few days I bring lots of genisoy bars, yogurt, Amy's frozen entrees, rice cakes and peanut butter and some bagged salad. Also, I'll bring a homemade pasta casserole that everybody might enjoy. Good luck.
  6. I know of two gluten free beers. Bard's tale beer and Ramapo Valley Beer. Bard's has a website and a listing of where their beer is available (a lot of Outback restaurants have it). I have only tried Ramapo Valley beer and it is okay. Also, Woodchuck cider is gluten free and widely available. I didn't used to like it, but it tasted a lot better now that...

    ARCHIVED To Life

    Thanks for the Info Wendy!!!
  9. I had my children, ages 5 and 8 tested after I was diagnosed with celiac disease. The only one of the tests that came back positive was the "Antigliadin Abs, IgG". My 8 year old had 51 and my 5 year old had 97. My gastroenterologist and pediatrician said that overall they test negative even though these results are high positive. What does the IgG indicate...

I'm glad to hear that To Life was great. I am heading to Bethany soon. Did you have any luck at other places dining out with gluten free options?

  12. There is a sipport group that meets at St. Peters Hospital in Albany on Thursday July 28 from 6:45 until 8:15. They have a website: www.celiacresource.org. They are supposed to have some really great food at this meeting - yum. I just joined and was recently diagnosed so I don't have much more information than that. Good luck.
  13. I know that there is an Outback Steakhouse in Orlando - they have a gluten free menu. The website allearsnet.com has a lot of information on dietary issues inside Disney World. They have every menu for every restaurant in all parks and hotels. They have a section for Celiacs with a lot of tips and restaurant specific information.
  14. We recently stayed at Pop Century Resort. They had gluten-free Macaroni and cheese, gluten-free pizza, gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free pasta available at all times at the food court inside the hotel. It was great. They wanted me to call early in the morning to arrange for pancakes, but everything else was available immediately. Have a good trip.
  15. If anyone has any information on eating out , gluten free, in the Bethany Beach DE (or neighboring areas) area it would be greatly appreciated!!!
