  1. What about babysitting? I started when I was a little younger than her, and it's a great way to kill time and make some cash. She certainly wouldn't be lonely. And it doesn't have to involve anything too active - she can play board games with the kids, or have them watch movies. Perhaps a penpal from another country? It would be a fun way to learn about...
  2. I think another problem for me is that I hate to cook. I'm not patient enough, unfortunately. So it drives me crazy that my options for convenience foods and take out are so limited.
  3. Is the dairy free because of lactose-intolerance? I ask because some lactose-intolerant people do well with Greek Yogurt...I think some of the bacterias in yogurt make it easier to digest. As for my breakfasts, I usually do either gluten free cereal or string cheese and fruit. Occasionally spoonfuls of peanut butter if I need a protein boost.

Going gluten-free might help, but sadly, there's also a chance that it won't help if your cognitive difficulties have a different underlying cause. For me, going gluten-free only helped a little bit.   9. I get regular bloodwork done, so I don't think I'm anemic. Hmmmm...I guess I'll try to pump up the protein. I've never been a big protein-eater, but maybe that will help. Does anyone know if gluten-free breads have the same vitamins and minerals as regular bread/wheat products? Because I'm almost wondering if I'm missing a nutrient.

  12. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for getting over being glutened faster? Or something to do to help the symptoms? I ate a bunch of candy last night, only find out this morning that it had hidden wheat in it. Stupid moment for me, I know.   13. I used to be a huge bagel lover, so I thought I'd try these. When I warmed one up today, however, the texture tasted just absolutely awful. I couldn't even finish, it was that bad. Does anyone have a trick for getting them to taste okay? I warmed mine in the microwave, so maybe that was the mistake... Also - do you refrigerate or freeze?

  15. Most of the restaurants that offer full gluten-free menus are pretty good about making sure that your meal is safe. They print out a menu claiming that a meal is gluten-free if it isn't - that would be recipe for legal problems! I've personally had GREAT experiences at PF Changs, the staff is so knowledgeable, so that could be a good one to try first...
