  1. Ingredients is only part of the equation; the other part is contamination, especially if you ate out. Be careful with french fries, hash browns, tater tots, etc.....even many of the frozen varieties are coated with wheat so that they brown up better....
  2. I was diagnosed two years ago, after many years of "stomach problems" that no one investigated properly. I was treated for reflux for a long time and then was told to have my gallbladder removed since I had gallstones (which were there for years and never caused any pain). My symptoms weren't "classic" celiac symptoms, but the more you learn about this...
  3. We ate at Mama's tonight for the first time and it was terrific! How nice to have a real menu (3 pages) to look at! I had fried calamari for the first time in a very long time. The selection of entrees was great with a lot of variety. If you're gluten-free on Long Island, try it.
  4. We are planning a cruise on the Carnival Legend and I have received conflicting information from Carnival on whether they will accomodate a gluten-free diet. Initially, I was told yes, just discuss it with your waiter; then, when I checked back again, I was told a flat no that they cannot provide a gluthen free menu. I'm not sure if they think that I...
