  1. That's great news, I'm so happy for you. I really hope it's the same type of thing going on with me! Stephanie
  2. Ya, that doesn't sound good. My lymph nodes swelled up so that made me think maybe it was an allergy, but I'll have to test and see if that is it. Have you tried guar gum? I was wondering if you have a reaction to xanthan if you could also have a reaction to guar or if they are totally different things. Thanks for the reply.
  3. I will definitely check those out, I also think I'm going to try the cookies without the xanthan gum (they may not hold up at all, but I'll just eat anyway). I want to test and see if it's actually the xanthan causing my problems afterall. I saw my doctor yesterday and she suggested the garbanzo bean flour could be causing the issue, and thought an experiment...
  4. Hi Larry, Thanks for the tip on the Betty Crocker cookies, I have not tried those yet, but it sounds great. I will definitely be trying Guar gum as well. My husband has been having stomach problems for some time that we haven't been able to figure out, so it is hard to say whether the cookies caused any new issues for him, and they didn't contain...
  5. Hi David, Thank you so much for that article, that sounds exactly like what I am experiencing. Even though I really don't want to have another food added to the list of foods we can't eat I guess it is better to know what is going on! My son is allergic to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts. Not corn that we know of, but the website...
  6. I made chocolate chip cookies a couple of nights ago, and the next day started feeling bloated and gassy and my lymph nodes feel swollen. This is how I usually feel when I get gluten, however usually it's worse. I used Bob's Red Mill all-purpose flour in the cookies and xanthan gum. I haven't introduced anything new to my diet, and when I think bad to...
  7. Thanks for the tips, that is a good idea about it at restaurants. And thanks for the tip on taking a bath with Epsom salt. I haven't actually purposely cheated, I have just accidentally gotten gluten while eating out or with family who thought they had cooked gluten free but did not actually do so. Everyone is well intentioned, and I supervised as much...
  8. I was diagnosed with celiac in October and was doing well with the gluten free diet until I went to celebrate Thanksgiving with family, we had to drive for two days, eat on the road, eat a week and a half of meals away from home, and I am not sure how many times I got gluten while on traveling but it was at least once or twice. I then came home and accidentally...
  9. Thanks everyone, sounds like it is not the tea, or if it is it may be the caffeine. I have not eliminated dairy so that could be it too. I will try keeping a food journal, maybe that will help. Thanks for the suggestion!
  10. I was recently diagnosed, and am still trying to get all of the gluten out of my diet. I thought I had done so, but a couple of weeks ago started having issues, the only thing I could think of was the new Awake Tazo Tea I had just bought a package of. I cut it out, but looked on their website and they say it is gluten free. So, I just had some yesterday...
  11. Hi, I've also eaten Amy's Organic and they have some that are dairy and gluten free that are pretty good. They also sell dairy and gluten free imitation ice cream at my whole foods that is actually decent... I don't remember the brands, there are a couple.
  12. Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. I think I'd still prefer to use a company that can guarantee me that something is gluten free though, also it seems like a company as big as Pantene could at least find out if their fragrance includes any allergens in it without the fragrance company divulging their ingredients. But maybe I'm wrong... Thanks...
  13. Yep, I think I will just find a different product to be on the safe side. And you are right I'd rather support a company that will give me a straight answer. Whether or not a tiny bit of gluten in my hair will hurt me or not was not the question I asked them. Basically I just said, I have celiac disease is your product gluten free, and they did not really...
  14. Thanks for you response! That is exactly how I took the letter too. I haven't contacted too many places about whether or not their products contain gluten, so I wasn't sure about the type of response you normally get. But I felt that their letter was very patronizing as well! I am not going to be using their products anymore.
  15. I am new to celiac.com and was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. I am still trying to figure everything out, have gone through all my food and medicine but still think I have been having a reaction to something so started looking into my bath and beauty products. I have seen on here that some people have reactions to them even though you do not ingest...
