  1. I've been gluten free for one year. My only symptom (over the last 7 years or so) has ALWAYS been just bloating with NO pain or diarrhea. Since going gluten-free my bloating has gotten better but not cured by any means. Now I'm trying a FODMAP kinda diet, cut down on the fructose considerable and I'm much better and fast. Not sure if it will last though since...
  2. thanks for the reply! i will definitively look into the fructose thing.
  3. As I approach my one year Gluten free I wanted to share my story, maybe get some feedback. It's been a tough battle but I am approaching one year of gluten free! It's been a weird time and I'm as confused as ever. To kinda recap, I'm a 29 year old male with a family history of celiac's...kinda (1 diagnosed person out of about 100 in my fam). My symptom...
  4. I'm currently taking "NATURE MADE Liquid Softgel MULTI For Him.". I'm not a big fan of the pill itself. I dropped one into a cup of water and let it sit, to see how long it took to dissolve, and I'm not sure it ever even did. I used to take ALIVE Multivitamins and loved them, but they contain some ingredients that might have contained gluten. any suggestions...
  5. I felt great the first 2 days... then my body starting going through the withdrawals. 2 months later I feel "better" but far from great. Still trying to find that right balance.
  6. People toss this term around quite frequently and I was wondering, what exactly qualifies as processed food? Does a Lara Bar qualify as processed? What about Heinz ketchup? gluten-free cereals? I can't believe it's not butter? Just wondering what people consider processed?
  7. I've always only had one symptom, bloating. I've been gluten-free for almost 2 months and the bloating has improved, although I wouldn't say I'm 100%. But one of the problems I have ran into, no pun intended, is that after I run or do any kind of cardio exercise my symptom(s) flare up for days. I asked my doctor and he really had no clue, suggested it might...
  8. The bottle does state "wheat grass" and "barley grass" as ingredients. I remember calling the company (Natures Way) and they told me it was gluten free etc. I've been taking it forever and seem to be okay but I guess it wouldn't hurt to switch especially since I'm almost out. Any recommendations?
  9. oh yeah, i forgot to mention it was a sublingual pill. Which leads me to my next question. Should all vitamins be taken this way? or just b12.
  10. trying to get on the B-12 bandwagon to see if it raisees my energy levels (among other thing). Picked up Biochem B-12 3000 mcg. Anything I should know? Thanks
  11. my multi vitamin has 3333% of my daily B12 (as cyanocobalamin). is there a difference?
  12. For supplements I take Alive Multi vitamins, Astragalus root, curcumin, calcuim and zinc trader joes multi and the fish oil. My diet consists mostly of meat, chicken and some fish. Also rice, potatoes, gluten-free pasta, eggs, asparagus, lettuce, spinach. Fruits such as bananas, strawberries, raspberries.
  13. I've been gluten-free for 6 weeks now and seem to be getting better except for one MAJOR problem. My Sex Drive has all but disappeared. I'm only 28 years old with no prior sex related issues, and in good health, but pretty much from day one of starting my gluten free diet I've noticed a steady drop in my sex drive. I had stopped taking Fish Oil supplements...
  14. I only have bloating. Nothing else (well possibly some fatigue, but it might just be laziness) No Big D... thank God.
  15. its actually not an energy problem as much a stomach problem. The only symptom of Celiac's I've ever had has been bloating, and after I exercise it seems to get worse.
  16. I have been gluten free for about 7 weeks, (although 3 weeks ago I'm pretty sure I was glutened). I enjoy working out, running, weights, etc. Should I be cautious of my stomach during the first 6 months of recovery? Is it okay to do abdominal exercises? Is there anything I should know? thanks
  17. I called today. The lady said it was gluten free.
  18. I used to love this dressing before goign gluten-free and was wondering if anyone had some insight. Here is the ingredients list Ingredients: canola oil, water, dijon mustard (vinegar, mustard seed, water, salt, white wine, citric acid, tartaric acid, spices), honey, sugar, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, white onion powder, salt, modified tapioca...
  19. I'm 28 years old, Male, 175 lbs, 5' 11. I have been going to the gym, on and off, since high school and my biggest problem has always been I don't put on muscle, no matter how hard I work out. At my peak I was working out 4-5 times a week, 1 1/2 hours a day (mostly lifting) and it just wasn't working out. My stomach was a mess and at best I would gain...
  20. I've had nothing but bloating for 6-8 years! So I'm with you on this one. I've been gluten free for about month now and they bloating has decreased considerably. At about the 3 week mark things started to really settle down, although I wouldn't say it's 100% gone. Just stick it out, track your foods and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's...
  21. Picked these up from Trader Joes but wanted to maybe get some feedback on them before I started taking them.
  22. I don't think it's a stone.. I've never had pain before, I'm only 28 years old, I'm skinny and I've (more or less) eaten healthy all my life. It doesn't feel like gas, It's something else. Someone had asked if I had worked out in the last few days and I have. He mentioned it could be a result of the exercise and the pressure I put on my core. The good thing...
  23. So I am on day 13 of being gluten free and last night was a terror. At around 2AM I started having these sharp shooting pains in my stomach, pretty much on my sides and the upper part. I eventually fell asleep and now I woke up about an hour ago and still have them. Anybody ever deal with this? Can I take Rolaids, Tums?
  24. thanks for your response. I'm 28 years old, as far as I know I may have had celiac (or something close to it) for upwards of 8 years. Although my symptoms never really worsened. Just bloating... that's it. I'm dumping the fruit snacks and energy bars and try to focus on rice/potatoes - chicken/meat with veggies on the side. Also, I take vitamins that...
  25. oh.... and honey. I put honey on the pancakes
