  2. You mean eat food with gluten in it for 3 months? No way in heck that's gonna happen!
  3. When in Germany, go to grocery stores and get Glutano (instead of Glutino, as we know it here) and Schar brand foods. They are gluten-free and there is a lot more available there than here. The breads alone are much better. Have fun.
  4. If you've been off gluten for a few months, what does a blood test measure and how effective is it at that point?
  5. I spoke to a friend last night who has a lot of knowledge of food processors, labeling, etc. He said that the reason why Dannon does not have to disclose any gluten for the DanActive line is because it is not technically considered a food. How is that you ask? It is because it contains "probiotics." Apparently by including the probiotic line in...
  6. I just got off the phone with a DanActive representative and she confirmed that DanActive Probiotic drinks are not gluten free. She said they use the term "gluten safe" and "not gluten safe" instead of gluten-free and containing gluten. She mentioned about three products that they consider "gluten safe" (I explained to her that this term is very misleading...
  7. Before I found out that I couldn't have gluten, I used to drink the small DanActive yogurt drinks a lot. The other day I saw them in the grocery store, checked the ingredient list & looked for any allergy warnings, and considering it safe, I purchased a batch. This morning for breakfast I had milk, a banana, and one Danactive. About 15 mins later...
  8. Yeah, I was bitten by the ice cream too. I checked the ingredients and it looked safe. Later I realized I was glutined and that was the only food I knew was different from my routine. I checked the labeling again and in small print at the bottom was the disclaimer about cross contamination possibilities with wheat. Lesson learned on reading *everything...
  9. I hear ya. About three years ago my wife told me she was tired of my being tired all the time and that I needed to go to the doctor. The doctor said it had to be low testosterone. I took the required blood tests and he was right, it was pretty low. He prescribed Androgel, a gel that is smeared on the shoulders and abdomen daily, and he assured me that...
  10. Thanks all! Fortunately I'm already feeling better today. At times it all seems so unreal and overwhelming.
  11. I learned about gluten intolerance a little while ago from a friend who suggested that might be my problem after hearing about some of my symptoms. The friend recommended that I try a gluten-free diet to see if it would make a difference. So far, two weeks into things, I think I can sense some differences. Or at least, I don't sense a lot of the problems...
  12. I'm new to this forum and so I can't say yet if it is gluten-related yet (I am two weeks gluten-free but got "glutened" yesterday from something I didn't catch). As to what she is reporting, I've had the same sensation for the past few years. It usually comes on whenever I've had a tomato-based items like spaghetti sauce or something acidic. It also...
