  1. I went gluten-free in March and now I'm feeling better in so many ways. I'm still learning as I go and this forum has taught me more than anything else, especially about the wide variety of obvious symptoms from gluten intolerance. My problem is that I see people all around me who are obviously gluten intolerant. I try not to say anything but sometimes...
  2. It appears to me that you are eating an awful lot of rice. It might not contain gluten but it is high in lectin. Lectin is a hardy protein that does not break down easily. It is resistant to stomach acid and digestive enzymes. A good article about it appears at krispin.com. You might also want to search for the keyword
  3. Oh yeah, my favorite snack bar is the Oskri coconut bar - it's chewy chewy coconut! Tastes just like an Almond Joy without the chocolate and almonds. Only 99 cents at my health food store. I even got my non-celiac friends hooked on them!

  7. Unfortunately it looks like I missed the conference. Oh well, better luck next year. Thanks for the feedback.
  8. I just have to add my two cents here. When I'm desperate like this, I resort to doing an enema. Seems like when I get myself cleaned out quicker, I'm much more comfortable.
  9. I've been gluten free for 4-5 weeks. I had fog-in-the-head up until that time, then I became clear-headed once off gluten, now the fog has returned. It almost feels like I'm in a different dimension sometimes. Although it sounds cool, it's not fun. My eyes are always very heavy/sleepy too. I also cannot concentrate. My thyroid is fine (I've been on Synthroid...
  10. Sounds like I should read "The Gluten Effect" book. Interesting how it effects the brain. My mother died of Alzheimer's and with her other health problems over the years (Grave's disease, for one) I'm sure she was also a celiac victim, unbeknownst to anyone at the time.
