  1. Well, fortunately I don't have anything to add to my diagnosis of Celiac. The doctor said I overdid it and am suffering from some exhaustion. In a week's time I had pulled a 28 hour shift for a law enforcement running event and then went to St. Louis a day after for a four day robotics event. She pointed out that I have a disease (hadn't really liked the...
  2. I think I would rather have it be a thyroid issue than a connective tissue disease...well, actually nothing at all. Not to minimize thyroid disorders but know that in the majority of cases it can be treated with thyroid hormones. I was seen by an endocrinologist and followed by him for a year and a half after concern that I might have a nodule in my thyroid...
  3. I have a doctor's appointment next week. I do not believe that I have had an ANA test done. My thyroid levels were normal so I believe that they ruled out those issues. One thing I did fail to mention is that I also have Raynauld's which my doctor says is related to the Celiac disease. It has gotten worse over the last year even though I have been gluten...
  4. I was wondering if there is a link between Celiac disease and Lupus since they are both autoimmune disorders. If you have Celiac and then were diagnosed with Lupus, what were your symptoms that moved you toward that diagnosis? Over the last three weeks I either have had a MAJOR gluten hit or maybe something more might be going on. I have been dealing with...
  5. I just checked the website under other concerns and it only states that it is sugar free.
  6. has been feeling better over all, except for the occasional being glutened. Is disheartened though since it looks like I have issues with casein too.

  7. I am not sure but does getting "glutened" affect the psyche? It seems that a couple of days after getting hit and the gut seems to feel better my mood stinks. I get angry much easier and go into a depressed mood. This lasts for a day or two. Anybody else experience this?
  8. Ok, I will lay off the coffee, I hear camomile tea is good for the gut so I will trade in my coffee for now. I also am going to start to take probiotics as well as some L-glutamine and see if that all helps. I have been feeling better over all but am kind of tired of the days when I don't so I will be much more consistent and hopefully these things will...
  9. How much L-Glutamine have you guys been taking.
  10. I have been gluten free for about 2 months. Things seem to be getting better although once in a while I seem to get hit with something that is similar to a gluten hit. Probably some sneaking in as I get used to the new lifestyle. I do have a couple of questions though. Should I back off of coffee. I enjoy it and it did not seem to cause any problems...
  11. On my recent visit to figure out what was going on with me the doctor let me get one sentence out and said "Oh, you are IBS" and started to talk to me about anxiety and such. Finally decided to test me after I pushed on about my symptoms.
  12. I think it started with me about 4 years ago when I had a stomach virus that ended up getting into my heart muscle. Even though I completely recovered from that I never felt quite right. Over the last couple of years I have been fighting fatigue to the point that they though I might be going hypothyroid even though the labs were not quite there. Over the...
  13. It was one of two things I had that was different this weekend. From a 2006 post this was in a reply from Coke. Some minor ingredients in these products are manufactured from plants that gluten-sensitive people could react to, so we are unable to state categorically that they are totally gluten-free even though they may have undetectable levels of gluten...

    ARCHIVED Grocery Book

I was looking at gluten free grocery guides. Since I am new to all this, I find them very helpful but I have an old copy that was given to me. I want to get a new one but saw a couple options. One is from Cecelia's Marketplace called "The Gluten Free Shopping Guide" and then one put out by Triumph Dining called "The Essential Gluten Free Grocery Guide...
  15. Well, my doctor called yesterday. Was shocked that he called me on a holiday. Sounds like he actually looked at everything and as a result of a positive blood test for Gliadin Antibodies and my symptoms as well as the lessing of those symptoms on a gluten free diet he says I am gluten intolerant/celiac. I do have to say it is nice to have a doctor...
  16. I looked at my multivitamin that I take as well as a powdered drink mix that was "natural energy" and found out I am taking over 16,000% of the RDA for B12. Guess that explains why my levels are still ok. It is interesting to note though, I have not really lost any weight but my pants are fitting better than before I started gluten-free.
  17. One last question. Could my labs for b12, folate, and iron all be normal and I still have celiac?
  18. Thanks for all the input. I decided to put off the genetic testing for now. Did some research and found that my maternal grandmother and my mother both have autoimmune disorders so that would put me in the high risk category. I also researched and found that high bulirubin and low cholesterol can be indicative of celiac. I do take a multivitamin and...
  19. I figure that there is info already like this somewhere on the forum but after reading so many I could not quite get what I was looking for. I have been battling fatigue for quite a while now. Initially it was thought to be a thyroid problem since I have a family history. It ended up being negative. I have been having GI issues as well. Almost a constant...
