  1. Happy this thread has sparked such a lively conversation! Rosetapper: did you get my email response (on page 1 of the thread), inquiring about TSH levels that move? Your initial response, indicating that TSH levels that go up and down may indicate a 'dying' thyroid has me listening. You have my ear!
  2. Thanks for your comment and best of luck to you... Hang in there and let me know how you get on.

  3. Hmm...I would think that an elevated TSH level that is decreasing/normalizing, would be a good sign...no? Are TSH levels typically static? Over the past 6-months, my TSH levels have certainly moved, in both directions -- first up, and then most recently down by over 1pt. I've had GI docs and a very good primary care physician not seem to be too concerned...
  4. I'm tearing-up reading the responses. Thank you so much for all of the kind words, suggestions and support!! I think I'm just coming to term with how difficult it's been to-date. My wife is pregnant, we have a nice house, etc, and I need to find a way to manage our world, but am scared about returning to the work force, along with all of the associated mental...
  5. Ok, so I'm at a cross-roads; mid-30's male, well-educated, but a host of cognitive and neurological issues that have proven to be exceptionally challenging and have made career success difficult. Back-story: Approximately 6-months ago I was diagnosed with Celiac disease and am making the adjustment. I don't knowingly eat anything with gluten in it, but...
  6. Thanks for the response. So, I assume that you call the manufacturer and find out ALL of the active and inactive ingredients first, before purchasing? I have a number of supplements that I was going to purchase, but gather that I'll need to call in advance, regardless of whether it's claimed to be gluten free...or simply the allergen free claim good enough...
  7. Hi There- My insurance provider did not cover the panel, but it was only $140 for the panel results and diet plan...well worth it, if you ascribe to secondary tolerances. I'm curious if other folks have a secondary corn intolerance and if they've had to compound their medication, etc because of it?
  8. Hi All -- So, I'm 6-months along my new-found gluten-free diet and feeling better in some areas and not in others. I was and possibly still am, a Marsh 3, which is basically complete villous atrophy; hopefully on the mend. Anyhow, I had an Alletess Food Allergy Panel conducted a few months back, which revealed that I had all sorts of other food sensitivities...
  9. Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I'm in the same boat, after 6-months on the gluten-free diet. Maybe try the FOODMAP diet. I'm not on it, but apparently it helps those who have additional allergies. I hope you feel better soon.
  10. Hi There -- No offense taken; nope, fortunately not obese. I did happen to put on a few extra lbs in recent years, but this diet has stemmed that trend; am 5'7" and weight 155lbs...and hope stay in/around this weight for sometime. Anyhow, thx to everyone for their suggestions/comments. In response, I have had the H. Pylori check and it came back negative...
  11. Hi -- my diet is reasonably simple at the moment. I mostly eat fruits, vegetables, nuts and poultry/meat. I do take supplements and one medication, all of which claim to be allergen-free. As for the secondary sensitivities, I've gotten mixed feedback on when and if those foods can (re) introduced into my diet.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. Actually, my Vitamin D level are low, so I'm taking a daily D3 (5000 IU), as well as a Calcium supplement with D3 (400 IU) and then a multivitamin w/ I think approximately 15% of the daily recommended allowance. So, all totaled, I'm getting 'D' up the wazoo. Hopefully it helps!
  13. All good things to consider. Well, I'm off to a new GI Dr. in approximately 3-weeks, so hopefully he'll have some useful suggestions...in addition to educating myself on this forum.
  14. Hello All -- So, I was diagnosed 5-months ago with Celiac disease. I immediately began a gluten free diet, with some unknowing hiccups, I'm sure. Anyhow, I was and am actually progressively getting worse in many ways on this diet: my stomach has become much more sensitive, peripheral neuropathy and greatly increased GERD...just to name a few symptoms; wondering...
  15. Interesting. So, I'm curious, does a level 4 on the Marsh scale indicate anything other than a longer healing period? Do level 4s typically have irreversible damage or, regardless of level, are we all able to eventually make it back to a baseline, at varied schedules? Also, I have had a # of blood panels conducted, and have read on the forum that B12...
  16. I'm curious...having recently conducted a food allergy panel myself, will the '1' designated food sensitivities, if ingested, either damage or delay the villi from healing? I don't obviously want to make life more miserable, but if there's no noticeable reaction to a '1' and the '1s' do not cause additional damage, is there a reason not to occasionally eat...
  17. Thanks all for your responses. My pathology report sounds pretty ugly -- near total to complete flattening of the villi, with prominent crypt hyperplasia and marked degenerative changes of the surface epithelium. Frankly, I have little knowledge of what the hell that means, but it can't be good. Interestingly, I've never had some of the physical sagas of...
  18. With all due respect, I wish I had your profile, try: in addition to wheat, rye, oats, barley, I have a class 3 reaction to cow's milk and cheese, and a class 1 reaction to apple, asparagus, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, celery, corn (ugh, this is a real, real challenge, cause I believe most gluten free products use corn as a binding agent, as well as in...
  19. Hi All- This forum has been a wealth of knowledge, and clearly a great community to be a part-of, in our shared quest to lead a gluten-free lifestyle. thank you! Ok, so, I was diagnosed 4-months ago with Celiac Disease - complete villious atrophy. Hey, i never do anything half-assed. In all seriousness, I'm sure this ain't good, but am hopeful that...
