  1. Yeah, I was thinking about magnesium too, when you mentioned palpitations and fatigue etc. Also try to get the test results, different countries measure magnesium levels differently ('normal' in some countries can be 'low' really..) And it depends how the tests are done too, you probably got info on that already,or you can research it.. There are other...
  2. Okay, apparently this was too long or not coherent enough? I will just use this thread as a sort of 'journal', to keep track of what I learn on these forums and elsewhere... Apparently if you can stick to the diet you can do it anyway.. without tests.. It might help family be more supportive if I got 'officially' tested.. Mom did ask me if I want...
  3. Well, I was gluten-free yesterday and today, and while my head is clear and woke up with a clear head in the morning (which is amazing!!) I got easily irritated at lunch again.. Is this like somekind of 'detox'? That it might get worse for a while before it gets fully better? I just felt like I could do so much with this clear head, and then got bogged...
  4. I found it was educating to go with my Mom through Wikipedia articles together (both for ADD or celiac or whatever..) And translate stuff or show her pictures of vilii and explain briefly.. so she understands the mechanisms and the symptoms.. I was gluten-free before and it kinda drove them crazy (even if I cooked my own food, just leaving the extra...
  5. Hi Jen!! You have a talent for writing!! It's fascinating to read about your discoveries - wishing you to continue on the road to health!! I mixed you up with another Jen and replied in that thread (and can't edit cause I'm a newbie lol) basically, I'm half hopeful and half-frustrated/scared too, lol.. And still have a long way to go before...
  6. Hey Hunter! I was told bloodwork alone was not conclusive, and that biopsy is needed too.. Also, sometimes one of them can be positive and the other negative.. Someone told me they did an 'iron test' for someone in that case then? (Would that be an adequate test?) (Sorry I'm not a native speaker of English and don't know the name of that test in...
  7. If it's a sign both me & mum might have it... It can also be other things, and might be worth to check'em out too, like thyroid or any (early or pre-)menopause or such..
  8. Hi! I can relate!! Partly I'd be almost relieved.. and sure think my Mom and/or Grandma might have it too... And partly I'd want it to be just an 'intolerance' or allergy, so that maybe it can get better with time.. (this is probably the bigger part, ha ha..) My family mostly beliefs in 'hardcore diseases' or what comes with 'proof' so a diagnosis...
  9. Hi! Very happy I found this forum... Sorry if this isn't entirely coherent, not really sure how to ask this. I don't know whether to wait and eat gluten for a couple of months to get tested for celiac proper, or just go gluten-free and/or lactose-free? (I seem to feel better without it?) I've had some troubles for the past 4 years or so, okay...
