  1. Yes, the Tums are gluten free. Checked that one I am having dairy but only yogurt and occasionally some cheese and we have soy about once a week. It doesn't seem to cause any problems that I've noticed. Actually, the yogurt seems to help with the reflux. We do eat mostly whole foods. Luckily I am married to a chef who is very supportive We make most of...
  2. lol that is something I do miss! I don't dream as much as I used to...or at least I dont remember them the way I did before.
  3. I also had problems sleeping. Since I was a child I always got up 5-10 times a night and everyone thought that that was just "how you are". In university I was sent to a couple of sleep clinics because I was kind of blacking out during the day (it was my blood sugar levels) and they diagnosed me with 3 different sleep disorders! After a month or two...
  4. I also had itching. It was mostly on my palms and the bottoms of my feet and I felt like ripping them right off. Sometimes though it was my whole body. It ended up that my B6 levels were low and apparently causing it. When I started taking B vitamin suppliments the itching went away
  5. I've been gluten free for about 3 months now. Feeling better in general. I do have heart burn quite often and I've also gained some weight (I was overweight before so this isnt a good thing). But now I'm finding that I seem to be getting more viral infections than I ever did. About a month ago I got Pityriasis rosea and now I've had a nasty lung infection...
  6. Just wanted to follow up. Recently I've been feeling really really sick. I've almost completely stopped digesting food again and was exhausted. I went back to the doctor and he tested me for everything under the sun and everything was normal (getting the B12/B6 results back tomorrow). On Sunday this week I forgot to take the Nexium in the morning...and...
  7. Yes, I really need to get that B12 and B6 test done. Though they were low in 2006 when I had my negitive celiac blood work I haven't been able to convince a doctor to do the tests now. Going to have to raise some blood hell!
  8. I'll have to talk to my doctor about enzymes because I'm not sure where to get them in Korea. I eat yogurt daily, drink Yakult and other probiotic drinks, drink ginger tea and use ginger in cooking, but have problems with miso and kimchi etc because of other allergies. I'm also currently on a probiotic (gluten free) but if I take it without the other medications...
  9. I'm wondering along the same lines too! I've been on Nexium, Dicetel and Medilac for about 3 weeks now. Today I forgot to take the Dicetel and Medilac after breakfast and by midday I had gas coming out of both ends and it felt like knives were being stabbed into my stomach! I don't want to be on meds but without them I'm not digesting, can't sleep and have...
  10. It was red wine so I think it should have been ok gluten wise. I'm feeling ok now so I'm guessing that my stomach is just too sensitive at this point. I guess I'll give it a week or so and then try a glass of wine again to see if the same thing happens. If yes, then I know for sure it was the wine and not something else.
  11. I had this happen in 2005. Several vitamin and mineral levels were low or fluctuating but all of my hormone levels were also low. My thyroid tests came back normal but I had to go on hormone replacement therapy for about 6 months.
  12. When I looked up the medications online it appeared that they were all gluten free but that's as much as I know. I'm guessing it's not the medication since I was fine for about a week on them. Didn't have any alchole last night and so far today I am fine. I'm leaning towards alchol being the problem. The alchol was gluten free and doesnt react with any of...
  13. I had all of those problems before the medication. When you already have stomach pain, fullness, nausea, constipation and diarrhea, heartburn, headaches, drowsiness, and skin rash etc for years and they go away but come back how are you supposed to know if it is the medication or the celiac? I contacted the doctor. He didn't respond. The pharmasists...
  14. I contacted the specialist when I vomited because I was worried I was allergic to something in the medication but he never responded. When I started feeling better I figured it was just my body getting used to the medication or something. I think I have to wait until I see him next on the 10th before I can talk to him. Unfortunately the pharmacist who...
  15. Since being gluten free for a couple of months now my cravings for sugar have all but disappeared completely...except for the occasional dark chocolate. I can't ever tollerate the taste of cola anymore! Considering I've had reactive hypoglycemia for years and was suffering from sudden mysterious blood sugar drops this is amazing.
  16. I am a Canadian in South Korea. My specialist has never actually seen or treated anyone with celiac disease and neither have the other specialists he has been consulting with. I started eating gluten free in the middle of October (one cheat day on Oct 29th and another on November 5th). My next specialist appointment is not until December 10th. My specialist...
  17. I spoke with the doctor today. He said that he did a biopsy of 10 samples (not sure how spread out they were) and that there was some damage. He agreed that eating gluten free may have affected the results but he doesnt really want to do another endoscopy. He wants me to continue to take the probiotics, antacids and medication to stop loose bowels for a month...
  18. I really hope I can get some advice! I'm currently living in South Korea where celiac disease is all but nonexistent. I've had food/stomach problems most of my life but really started to get sick about 10 years ago. Vitamin deficiency (resulting in hair loss!), reactive hypoglycemia, chronic loose bowels, undigested food, exhaustion, rash on cheeks that never...
