  1. Today is BETTER! I ate some brown rice with apple and pecans chopped into it for breakfast today. Not bad. Avoiding dairy is going to be hard, though. (I did put a little butter in it.) After thinking through Tx's comments, I may have figured out how I would have gotten cc'ed. I did make myself a separate dinner on Monday night, but I made it in my Teflon...
  2. GFnDC, I just saw your signature. That verse from Job...FANTASTIC! Made me LOL! Thanks. I needed that today!
  3. Thank you all so much for the responses. It's been a hard day today and ya'll are very encouraging. Yes, I am probably CCing myself all over the place. I've tried being very careful, but Tx is right. It's hard with little kids in the house! It's like a PB and J free-for-all. Is it not enough to wash all the cooking equipment very, very well? I...
  4. I just don't know what to do anymore. I've been sick for so long! I typed my whole life history on another post somewhere, but the jest of it is that a year and a half ago I went from amazingly healthy to deathly ill. The symptoms were neuro and gastro. After about eight months and ten doctors, it was finally discovered that I was B12 and D deficient. Getting...
  5. Thanks for all the responses! You guys are very informative, which is good, because I am pretty clueless. It was FRIED RICE, so that's probably the issue. Unless I don't have gluten/Celiac issues. Because I was EXTREMELY CAREFUL yesterday and sick last night and this morning.
  6. First of all, WOOHOO! I don't have to have all my posts approved anymore. Now I am officially in the club no one wants to be in! My question is regarding all the signatures I see on here, listing other intolerances, allergies, etc. If you have Celiac, are you more prone to other sensitivities? I've also noticed several listing nightshades. It took...
  7. Matt, I am new to all this, but I've had tests run at two different labs, and the values were different. One was <10 = negative; the other was <20 = negative. There may be other tests out there, too. A value of 33 would have been high on either of these, though. Sorry you feel sick.
  8. TPT, we started our diets about the same time (Thanksgiving day for me!). I could tell a difference with the GI symptoms within two or three days. SO GLAD!!! For me, the biggest difference has been when I wake in the morning. I actually want to get out of bed! Well, except for this morning...my little one was up in the night with a stomach virus (EEWWW!)...
  9. I am enjoying all the tips for gluten-free goodies! Thanks! (BTW, will my posts stop being moderated when I hit a certain post number?)
  10. TPT, I used Hodgson Mills Cookie Mix and added chocolate chips. They were in my local Kroger and were less than $2.50 for a box that made two dozen decent-sized cookies. Open Original Shared Link I also figure that there are other cookies that I grew up with that I could make if I get the gluten-free version of the cereals to make them....like Rice...
  11. I'm on day 11 of gluten-free and was lamenting Oreos earlier today. I skeptically bought my first gluten-free baking mix - Hodgson Mill Cookie Dough. And now I know that all's right with the world. I CAN DO THIS! I think it was actually yummier than regular dough!
  12. And Skylark, that isn't exactly how it was laid out on the lab sheet. Of course the forum took out the spaces. But apparently this forum is moderated post-by-post and I couldn't stay online to see if it came out right! It seems kind of weird that my values would be "1" and "2," though. I might call the GP and clarify, just to be sure.
  13. WOW! Thanks for all the responses! Yes, I went from 135 to 117 in just a couple of months. It would have been worse, but I was forcing myself to eat and willing myself to not throw up. I got good at that from three hyperemesis pregnancies. Ironically, I ate toast EVERY MORNING because I thought it would be calming to my stomach. ...
  14. Thank you ALL for your replies. It's just so nice to have someone, ANYONE, understand what it's like to be sick for a long time with no answers. And all the testing (anyone have that arm-shocking test for neuropathy??!?!) and meds really get you down. Skylark, the way it is laid out on the page is like this: Value...
  15. Hi, all! I'm new here but I've been sick for a long time. Hopefully I can make my intro short. My first symptoms were similar to a panic attack in May 2009. It happened again a month later, then again another month later. Then I went into a constant state of PURE MISERY from late July until December 2009. My symptoms were: * waking up as if someone...
  16. Thanks for the kind reply, Ravenwood. I will try to get my labs after the holiday. I haven't tried the diet yet but it's worth a try. I guess today might not be the best day to start! LOL!
  17. Hi, all. This is my first post here. I've been sick for 1 1/2 years. My first symptoms were neurological but soon turned into both neuro and gastro. I was sent down the "must be anxiety so try out about six different anti-depressants and make her even sicker" road until it was discovered eight months later that I was deficient in vitamins D and B1...
