  1. I got all my results today. The biopsy from the 2nd portion of the duodenum was negative, "duodenal mucosa showing normal villous architecture. No evidence of cryptitis or dysplasia." Stomach body biopsy: Gastric mucosa showing mild reactive gastropathy. No evidence of intestinal metaplasia. Giemsa stain is negative for Heliobacter pylori like...
  2. I don't know about the diet as it relates to autism, but I have heard that if we are officially diagnosed with Celiac and the doctor writes it with our name, diagnosis, and date then we can write-off the DIFFERENCE in the cost between gluten free food and "regular" food. For example, if a loaf of wheat bread costs .99 cents, and a loaf of gluten free bread...
  3. For those living in New Jersey, I just got off of the phone with Shoprite. Their Certified Organic Butter flavored microwave popcorn is both gluten and soy free. I'm doing the happy dance!
  4. It has soy in it, so I guess it's still out for me. Herb-ox beef (not sure about chicken yet) also has soy. I have no idea what to use in place of that.
  5. So you all consider it safe then? This would be great news at my house!
  6. After realizing that Lipton Onion Soup Mix listed soy as an ingredient, I wrote to them. Here is their reply: Thank you for writing us regarding Recipe Secrets Onion Soup . As of Sept. 2010 our LIPTON SOUP SECRETS ONION now states that VEGETABLE YEAST EXTRACT (BARLEY) as an ingredient. Reason for the labeling change Though it was not required...
  7. Sorry I didn't make that more clear. I was talking about soy intolerant. I guess that's what I am now too?
  8. Do you consider soy lecithin safe? I've read that the amount of soy protein in soy lecithin is negligible.
  9. Are there any brands of Italian sausage that are gluten and soy free?
  10. You've identified the source of today's problem, the chocolate rice chex. Dang, I really like that too! Plain rice chex for me from now on. I couldn't imagine what I had done wrong today and at least I know now. Thank you for pointing that out.
  11. I got this recipe prior to diagnosis, so I'll post it and see how all of you may alter it to be gluten free. It's a delicious recipe and would love to figure out how to adapt it to be gluten free. 3 1/2 to 4 lbs of Napa Cabbage, cut up (sliced) 3 bunches of scallions, sliced 8 oz of toasted almond slices 3 pkgs of Ramon noodles (noodles only) 1...
  12. That Old El Paso stuff is just way too questionable for me. I like the recipe for the home-made one and will try that. I really don't want to hear that I'm sensitive to soy too. What will be left? I've never had a problem with soy before and have eaten soy icecream before. This has me very depressed. I'm going to buy that tamari stuff and try that...
  13. Thank you! This looks good. I figure the El Paso sauce wasn't my best choice to date. I've read on another board where someone said they had been glutened by La Choy soy sauce. I'll be picking up the tammari (SP?) sauce to try for next time.
  14. I ate Polenta for the first time today. I wonder if that's it for today? I'm sure it was the Old El Paso enchilada sauce on Wednesday, not on an approved list, I should have known better.
