  1. I am very discouraged. I just got my endoscopy biopsy results back and after 2 yrs on the gluten-free diet my villi are still blunted. I went in for the EGD because I wasn't feeling as well anymore. My migraines, fatigue, skin rash... all came back. The thing is, I am SOOOO careful!! I don't eat out at all, and cook all my own meals, except I do eat alot...
  2. STRAWBERRIES - Yes. That is ALL we have here. My husband eats them and bought some last night. He has been out golfing all day, it is beautiful weather today. When he gets home guess what he is gonna find in the fridge (chuckle) NO STRAWBERRIES! Okay, I'll be a good wife And pick some more up on the way home Thanks for the suggestions...
  3. I have a support group meeting to attend in a few hours, and I planned on baking a banana bread but it didn't turn out There's no way I'd subject anyone to it, not even my worst enemy I had chips as a backup (Mission brand, I thought they were okay!) but after eating some last night I spent the whole night tossing and turning in bed with stomach...
  4. I've been using cover girl clean foundation ever since I started wearing makeup (eons ago). Lately I've been breaking out like mad all over my face, upper back & chest... it's horrible, and it hurts. Anyway, the bottle I've been using over the last month or so is NOT fragrance free, and before I was always using a bottle that had a little green bar...
  5. There is a limit of 2,000 characters so I wrote this letter in 1,942 characters (including spaces) It is a disease that is even more prevalent in America than diabetes yet most people have never heard of it. Celiac disease has been shown to affect an estimated 1 out of every 130 Americans. Still, only 1 in every 4,700 patients leaves the doctor's office...
  6. The breaded chicken nuggets come out of the deep fryer dont they?
  7. Thanks guys!! Thats really good news. I'll visit McDs again sometime soon. It could be that I've just been on a long road to recovery. Yeah - I can remember eating at BK not too long ago when I didn't know that I had celiac disease - those chicken (breaded!) sandwiches tasted sooooooo good - then put me in sooooooo much pain afterward. Every time...
  8. From another recent post: Given the problems I've had with their fries... I just figured most mcD's do not care about contamination issues (or just aren't aware). I'd love to be able to eat some fries on the road once in awhile. And I wish that there was a good way to convince mcD's to make this 'seperate fryer' idea the RULE rather than the EXCEPTION...
  9. Okay.... Frito Lays. This is one I've heard is okay many times/places. I get sick when I eat them - anyone else (who is VERY sensitive to gluten)? Or do I have an issue w/ corn too? I know there is no allergy to corn, b/c I was tested. Or... am I just not healed yet? If the last one is the answer, then I fear my intestines must be damaged for life b...
  10. Thanks for your insight... I really appreciate it! I must admit that I am a tad lazy when it comes to contacting companies about gluten content. I've also gotten frustrated with the few I actually did try to get info from b/c their responses were so ambiguous I wondered why I went to the trouble to look up their contact info. Anyway, I've been searching...
  11. I have less and less trust each day in these so-called safe lists of supposed gluten-free food like the one published by ROCK (raising our celiac kids). Dinty Moore, for example - BIG no, no for me. I was sicker than a dog when I tried nearly ALL of the processed foods on their list. I get the DH too so not only am I miserable on the inside, I...
