ARCHIVED German And Celtic
scottyg354 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've been researching on here about ancestry linked to Celiac and noticed the majority of the sufferers on this site are either from Celtic or German decent. Are these two major nationalities that celiac can come from. I am an American of German, Scotish and Polish decent. -
Have a question for you guys. As many of you know over the past few years, I have had many health and GI Issues with no explanation, recently I decided that a food allergy diet may be worth a shot. My main problem is increasing my fiber. Whenever I used to start a healthy diet I had no problem with this. A few months backs I started a healthy again with Gluten...

Question for everyone. Had some D this morning and discomfort last night. I think it was due to my newly added fiber intake. Anyone ever run into this when starting the diet? -

I know I'm a guy and this is a little off topic for me, but I have a question regarding this. I've been using Keihl's lip balm for a while, I've just recently noticed that my lips are dry as hell and cracking. I also noticed when I first started using this that my lips would go sort of numb. I looked on the back and there is a wheat based ingredient. Could... -

Yes, I have been suspecting gluten for a few months now. Just never tried the diet. My doc agreed with me on my last visit that it is worth a shot. So yesterday was my first day on the diet. I decided that I would gluten the hell out of myself before I started just in case. I did drink beer on Saturday. One thing about that was, that when I started feeling... -

I not really going to refer to them as pencil stools as they are wide, but seem to be soft, i would say more loose maybe for by the exit LOL. I do get some normal ones too. Who knows. I can also remember in my teens that my left side tonsil was continously swelled. I mean it never went down, was huge for like 2 years, until I finally go them taken out. Just... -

The thing that really blew my mind was. From the time I was 19 I would always have morning D. Then probably withing the past 2 years, I started getting C with flat stools, occasionally normal ones. I never was constipated in my life. Like I said i was scope from top and bottom when I was 20 and all they found was GERD and a Hiatal Hernia. I just have so many... -

I actually have a Wegman's fairly close to me, and they have a Gluten free section. All the cereal's pasta's and cookies I listed here are from that section. I will list the brands when I return home later. PS: Like I said I am self diagnosed. Out of curiousity, how long until you start to feel a difference? -

I know I was tested for B-12 and I believe Folate, both of which were good. Only that came up odd on my last blood test was my MCHC .2 (32.9) below the range. Everything else was smack dab in the middle of the range. -

Yes. My doctor is good a good guy. He listens to all my complaints and is fairly compassionate. I discussed my digestive issues with him a few time and he agreed that maybe I should try to cut out some allergens. Gluten/Dairy. My TSH wasn't very high this last time I went I believe it was like 3.79 (High end of Normal). It was 8.5 when they found I was hypo... -

So, I've been having digestive problems for the past few years (probably about 7). Been scoped, x-rayed, ultrasounded, bloodwork etc. Scope I had in the beginning of my episodes, everything else after. Recently was diagnosed Hypothyroid. My question is, my family on both sides have a long history of autoimmune disease. On my mom's side: Mom: Hypothyroid... -

Yes, its not like a painful feeling. Just that you can't stop shaking. Very fast shakes. Then when you sit up you realize its not the bed but your whole body. It can really scare ya. I can tell you that much. From what I've been reading on here, the blood tests aren't always acurate. -

Besides all the basics: Diarrhea, Constipatoin, Ribbon Stool, Bloating, Gas (Foul), Fatigue, Anxiety, Irritability, Brain Fog, Odd Pains. I also noticed that over the past few years, I would wake up at night...
