Judy, Thanks for the info about Ambien. I had taken it before diagnosis and wondered why my diagnostician had pulled it. Still have trouble but at least I'm gluten free. I hope. Royann

    ARCHIVED Fast Food

Alexia, I have tried and tried to get my 7 children to understand that blood test is a snapshot at the moment. My children each displays their own symptoms and I hate the idea that they will get as close to death as I did. Still, I can not help that they will not listen. They seem to feel that the diet is a big problem. I don't feel it is. However,...

    ARCHIVED Obesity

I am so thankful for this web-site. I felt like I was the only fat Celiac. My doctor couldn't even believe the test results because "all celiacs are rail thin" I ballooned up to 187 before diagnosis. I dropped 50 lbs and then promptly put 30 back on. I'm in real trouble now because my blood pressure and cholesterol are both up. That makes MDs scream...

    ARCHIVED Insomnia

Dear Willow, I am a celiac, have ov course been all my life. Was finally diagnosed March 2002. I don't know if this is part of the disease, but I have personal thoughts that it...

My sister (celiac) had breast cancer. This along with 3 women celiacs for each man sort of makes me wonder what if anything the hormones do to change cells. I have not seen...
  7. To The 2 of us. You report symptoms that apear to be related to Celiac. Only a doctor can make that determination. Your concern about weight is really a non-concern. Many celiacs report that they were not bone thin. I too had difficulty losing weight all of my life. I believe it might be our bodies protecting us from the antibodies that we develop...
  8. Dear Suzn, I grieve frequently for my past life. I am a grandmother and was diagnosed March 2002. It is hard when the family gets together. I want each of them to be tested but they tell me that they don't want to change their ways. I know that I can shop at a regular grocery store and be just fine. However, they see things differently. Each celebration...
