About Me

In 2008, I had a huge break through. I finally realized why I had no energy, constant stomach aches, and a puffy face. I was allergic/intolerant to gluten! I've never been tested, I just know I feel better without!

It was a huge struggle to figure out what to eat, what were the hidden sources of gluten, and what random things had gluten in them like soy sauce, BBQ sauce, and french fries! But I

  1. Definitely go out and buy a bottle of San-J Tamari/Gluten Free sauce - it is basically gluten free soy sauce. Buy some little containers and bring it along with you when you go out.   2. That sounds just like me - I used to go out for pizza and beer and would "crash" afterward, I cut out the gluten and no crashing. I was never tested, I just knew it made me feel better to not have it so I have stuck with it. You might want to try a bit of trial and error. With pizzas - you have obviously the gluten, you have tomatoes which is a nightshade...
  3. I haven't really found any pre-made sandwich style breads that I like - they are all so heavy! I have had success with buying the mixes though and making bread - again I find it is still better to just have an open faced sandwich because the bread is still much heavier than the full of gluten bread! What I have tried that I really do love is Trader Joe...
