  1. I cannot seem to find an ingredients list or information ANYWHERE... they have a bottled drink you buy and just serve over ice. I can't fin out what the ingredients are much less if it's gluten free. Does anybody know?
  2. I have been gluten free for four weeks & while the diet & diagnosis has it's challenges, I can honestly say I've never felt so good in my whole life. Increased energy, focus, mood stabilized & improved, and the god awful pain and stomach aches are GONE. I'm finding a major increase in anxiety though. I'm SO terrified that I'm just all of a sudden...
  3. When I went gluten free my bowel movements completely changed but I was glad for any change at all! Now. A month into it I am concerned of whether it's healthy or not. I go every day now & no stomach cramping at all which is a miracle after 20+ years of misery... But the gluten free diet has caused my bms to be somewhat like mud & very hard to flush...
  4. I think maybe that's the hardest part- getting your mind used to questioning anything and EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth. It not even that we assume, it's that we were never trained to have to question it in out lives before. I popped a piece of complimentary candy in my mouth at a store the other day and it never even crosses my mind that I did that...
  5. Welcome chartandacres I'm sorry you are feeling miserable, we all can sympathize unfortunately. First of all, an important thing to know about celiac is that it can mimic ulcer pain! It's one of the most debilitating problems ie had with mine, living on ulcer meds for years. Be careful of caffeine, cigarettes, chocolate and anything to acidic (oranges, tomatoes...
  6. I was briefly a MK consultant, won't get into the reasons why I'm not anymore but the statement from Mary Kay to me was that they don't put gluten ingredients into ANY of their products but they can't guarantee the ingredient because they are outsourced from other companies. Sooo... Not only is that not exactly true (we know some of the products absolutely...
  7. I appreciate the advice on the mental aspect... It sure does feel like a roller coaster. Ome minute I feel like Superman and like ice veen given a new chance at life, the next I feel totally overwhelmed and hopeless. I've started to have anxiety attacks which is not fun. I think the exercise thing is important, I haven't been active enough at all the past...
  8. Fran, I just found this string an found myself in tears reading through all the posts. You are brave and humble and with a great spirit and sense of humor. I think I needed to read all thi to stop feeling sorry for myself and what little, endurable pain I'm in. If you can handle all that then I can handle this celiac disease! Thank you for keeping me tough...
  9. From all I've read they can have similar symptoms... Are there any sure fire ways to know if I'm goig through a typical withdrawal or if I somehow got glutened?
  10. I have been completely gluten free for a little over two weeks now & it has been the best thing that's ever happene to me. All of my nightmarish symptoms have dissipated & ive said I feels as if ie been given a whole new body to live in. I'm starting to feel discouraged as I head into the third week however. I have had a stomach ache for the last...
  11. Do any of you have experiences with gluten withdrawal? I've been gluten free for two days but I feel terrible. Extreme exhaustion & still ha ing cramps & diarrhea. A little queasy as well. I am wondering if gluten withdrawal is legitimate and how long I need to stick with this before I feel better. I'm feeling kinda helpless at the moment. Oh, also...
  12. Thank you, that is great advice. This is a whole lifestyle change for me as I commute almost four hours round trip a day & am a terrible planner so I buy a lot of gas station snacks & what not. This will be a healthy change for me but tKe some getting uses to as I am mostly uses to eating packaged foods.
  13. I am curious if others have problems from the ingredients that gluten-free foods use? I think the xanthan and guar gum cause me some pretty serious gastrointestinal issues if I eat much of them. Anybody else? Words of wisdom or ideas for snacks?
