I have to vent -- i am 99% positive i have DH -- i went gluten free in August 2011 after suffering 6 years of unexplained hives -- and the hives went away --- i recently put on some nail polish that had gluten in it and ate at a mexican resturant where I beleive the chips were not 100% corn like they said... so I know have a nice batch of hives on my hands...

  3. I get it on my hands it looks very similar to that -- i'm self diagnosised though... so take it for what it is worth. I know since being gluten free minus some accidental gluten I've been hive free! good luck!
  4. I've had a rash that the doctors could not figure out what it was -- just recently I read up on DH and it has seriously, saved my life. I went gluten free in August 6th of this year and with it now being mid october, I am just now starting to be almost completely hive free. The hard part is realizing the secret gluten in things. It's not black and white...
  5. figured it out! My nail polish has gluten in it! the ONE line from OPI of course is the one i put on... list of gluten products from OPI -- i used the nail envy: Acrylic Nail Base Coat Feet
  6. what about dimethyl glutarate? or is that the same thing?
  7. Has anyone with DH had reactions to nail polish removers? After using my polish remover tonight i noticed it had glutamate in it... yikes! But then i'm wondering if that is true -- should I be avoiding pedicures and manicures too? Advice please!
  8. How fast do you guys break out if you are "glutened" by mistake? I went out to eat with my sister in law tonight to a Mexican restaurant -- and granted i'm newer are this -- so i assumed the corn chips were okay to eat and the wait staff only spoke spanish so they had no idea what gluten free meant -- and by the time i left, i could see hives starting on...
  9. Has anyone tried the Suave professional line - rosemary and mint shampoo? I've heard that suave in general is gluten free -- but i noticed that my scalp has been itchy recently and on the bottom of the bottle it mentions something about aveda ... and i read somewhere to be leary of aveda products....Makes me wonder if it has gluten in it...or Just wondering...

Good Morning, I have had chornic hives for 6 years now -- after tons of testing for everything under the sun -- A friend suggested that it looks just like HD celiac... and she's right-- exactly like it -- and i have it on my arms, legs, itchy scalp, and face. I have been gluten free for about 3 weeks now and it's only left on my right arm --any one else...
  13. I have been suffering from hives for 6 years now. They are small tiny hives that match almost identically to pictures of dermatitis herpetiformis. I have seen every doctor under the sun it seems (and i have the doctor bills to prove it unfortunately) to find someone who can help me get rid of the hives. Nothing helps... steroid creams, antihistamines,...
