  1. Oh yeah... no one at my doctors office told me what to take regarding supplements, just to take them. I did research and am taking a B12 complex twice a day and 2000 IU of Vit D twice a day. As well as a Magnesium supplement. And a multi vitamin as well. I don't know if I have the energy for more tests..... uggh!
  2. Thanks for everyone's support. I called my doctors office and asked for a referral to a GI. But I have to wait for my doctor to get back on Monday now to see if she agrees. How dumb! But I did have a long conversation with the nurse, and she was the first one to seem sympathetic to my issues. My doctor just seems annoyed with me. It is frustrating!...
  3. That is what I was thinking, because of other peoples posts here. Should I try to go straight to a GI? Or should I go to a different GP? I just don't know if a GI will accept me without a referral. Honestly, I want to go to a different doctor period. And never go to this one again.
  4. I have had pretty much the same symptoms as you. I went off gluten for awhile, and felt better. Then went back on it, and everything came back, and in some cases worse than before. I finally got tested and got the blood results back today. NEGATIVE. But I have decided to go back to being gluten-free. I really think it will make all the difference...
  5. Thanks you guys! When I went off of gluten, shortly after my gall bladder surgery, I felt SIGNIFICANTLY better. But I gave in to the pressure that others gave me, and eventually gluten binged. I didn't have as significant reaction as I thought I might, so I decided just to go "gluten light". Meaning... no bread, pasta, beer, crackers. But that was about...
  6. I will add that I have had significant medical issues over the last two years. May 2010 - Appendix out Dec 2010 - three months with pneumonia June -Sept 2011 - Polyps and sludge in gall bladder - eventually removed I have had horrible issues with constipation alternating with diarrhea for my entire life. Since my gall bladder surgery I have been...
  7. I just don't think I have the energy to go to another doctor. I had significantly reduced my gluten intake, about six months ago and I did feel better. Then I just started to get lazy, and not paying attention to it. My concern is that my friends and family will not take me seriously unless I say that I was diagnosed. My mom told me that outright. ...
  8. My test results came in today. I had a Celiac Cascade done, but it looks like only two tests were run. IgA, S 137 mg.dL 61-356 tTG <1.2 Reference rangL <4.0(negative) unit: U/mL So the nurse called and said I didn't have Celiac. So I said, then where do we go from here? She had no clue. She was going to ask the doctor if she wanted to see...
  9. I went off of gluten for a few months, as well, and noticed vast improvement. But then I would have a gluten binge fest, and tell myself that it is ok because I don't have Celiac. Then I would feel like crap again.... I decided to go back on gluten to get tested because if I do have Celiac Disease, I will take my diet much more seriously. I had...
  10. I recently found out I was vitamin deficient, and I am currently waiting for my celiac panel to come back. I have had stomach issues for years, but over the last year I was extremely fatigued, joint pain, chronic colds and sinus infections, fevers, and I was emotionally all over the place. I have been on supplements for about three weeks and am marginally...
  11. Noted on the tanning bed, thank you. My GP actually mentioned that it would be okay, but she gave me very specific instructions on doing so.
  12. I feel for you, my family treats me the same way. I have not been diagnosed, but have spent the last few years with increasingly deteriorating health. I went gluten free on a trail basis last summer, and was treated terribly by my mom and sister when I visited them. They would sigh and roll their eyes at me if I looked at an ingredient label. There would...
  13. Thank you for the responses. Part of me wants a diagnoses because I feel that my family thinks that this is all in my head, and I want to prove them wrong. And I love the sun, but we definitely don't get enough of it in the winter, because I live in northern Michigan. It was suggested that I actually visit the tanning bed, as well. Thank you for...
  14. Hello, I had posted here in this forum a few months back, and now my doctor is revisiting Celiac as a diagnosis for me. A few years ago, I started with chronic constipation. Last June I would have "gall bladder attacks" so bad I would be home from work for a couple days. Tons of tests run, and nothing found to be wrong with my gall bladder, but we decided...
  15. I agree.... but they think that I should start feeling better and that the issues I am having currently are related to the surgery. Honestly, I don't think it is. It is almost like I feel worse than I did before surgery. Sure, I am still surgery sore. But the nausea, cramping, and gas are so much worse than before. And I really don't think that those...
  16. That is a good idea. I asked my doctor about it today, and she said there was nothing indicating celiac. I am so frustrated. So do I try to go gluten free until they decide to do the allergy tests? I have to wait a few more weeks before I can have that done because they want to make sure I am fully recovered from having my gall bladder out first. ...
  17. Hello- I have had stomach issues for a few years now. I am a 38 year old female, and for the past four years or so, I have had trouble with constipation (to the point where my doctor felt I was becoming dependant on laxitives). I have been extremely bloated, with indigestion and acid reflux. Three years ago, I had appendicitis. Then about four months...
