I was just diagnosed with celiacs last week. I climbed Mt Rainier this summer and am already scheduled to do I again next summer. It was a total white out on the summit so I need to go back to see the view from the top!
I went with IMG - a FANTASTIC guiding service! They provide your breakfast and dinner. Looking back it was very carb and gluten heavy. They will however do their best to accommodate any dietary restrictions.

Thank you! I'm so glad I found this forum! Of course I get the blood results in the mail on a Saturday morning and have no idea what they mean. Anyone know how to interpret this?

Hello, last week I had a blood test for celiacs and got a letter today stating that "according to the blood work you do have celiac disease". It also said they scheduled a follow up appt with a GI specialist for a treatment plan.
I have 2 questions: is it possible to have a false blood test? Or does this confirm I have the disease? Second, I've been on a gluten free diet for 1 week. It seems like from what I've read that the GI doctor will want to do a biopsy? Am I correct that this is the next step or is the blood work enough to confirm? My appointment isn't until the end of November. Should I go back to eating gluten in case more testing is needed? Thank you!

Hello,
I thought I would share my testing experience bc I was nervous about it all and this board helped a lot!
After a very positive blood test I went gluten-free for 6 weeks. After seeing a GI he wanted to do an endoscopy. He old me to go back on gluten immediately and scheduled the scope for 6 days later. I was nervous bc everything I had read said you need to be back on gluten for a minimum of 1-2 months. Nevertheless, the biopsy came back positive. Maybe being gluten-free for only 6 weeks wasn't long enough to do any healing. I am also one if those lucky people that doesn't have much of a reaction to gluten. Just bloating and a little anxiety. I've actually gained 40 lbs in the past 6 years.
Anyway, good luck to all of you going through the testing process!
