  1. It was about a month ago that she was glutened. Thanks for the GAPS diet link. This will be helpful for me as I have stomach issues still but unfortunately I really don't think my 3 year old would be willing. Luckily she is willing to eat some pretty bland foods though such as plain chicken, rice, fish.
  2. That when we gave our daughter gluten for two days (per her doctors orders to run the blood panel) that we caused more
  3. Mommida- she is a slow eater but then so am I. I have started keeping a food journal as of last week. She does chew food and then spit it out. Say I give her a pancake she loves them but sometimes she will put a piece in her mouth then spit it out and say that one's not right. I think she may have the egg sensitivity too but I haven't been able to pin...
  4. Sorry to hear your daughter is home sick. No fun. You are one step ahead of me I have yet to have my morning coffee I need to get on that. When my daughter was a baby she lived on sweet potatoes and pears so now she won't touch either. I'm just going to keep pushing the veggies and smoothies and hope and pray she gives in and realizes even though she may...
  5. Mushroom- Thank you for all of the ideas! she is so picky to boot all of her allergies. She likes plain bland flavors. I have tried just a fruit smoothie (in hopes if she liked it I could start incorperating veggies) she won't touch it... I put all fruits in she would eat by themselves too. It's like pulling teeth to get her to eat an egg. She will however...
  6. Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and I am new to the forums! Reason I am posting this topic here is because I would like imput from all not just from people that view the parents with kids thread. I have a 3 year old daughter that has been dairy free since 4 months old and gluten free for about 6 months. Three weeks ago we were advices to give her gluten...
  7. Oh goodness that must be so scary. Thank you Stephanie for the advice/support this is soo hard and heartbteaking. We want to do an elimination diet but with her only being 3 and a picky eater as is I just don't know how to go about it. Once she gets sick of eating the same bland foods she then just stops eating all together. I really can't wait to be in...
  8. Stephanie- No unfortunately IGE testing wasn't done just IGA. We have an appt with an allergist on Wed. I hope it goes well I'm teally starting to bw fearful of what to feed my daughter. I gavr her a banana Thursday, not only did it cause stomach irritation she broke out in a yeast infection from it. I thought to help with the inflammation let's give her...
  9. T.H- I did call her doctors office to inform them of her reaction and they said they would note it. I called today because my daughter seemed to have a stomach irritation after eating a banana, the lady answering the phones and the doctor don't seem to be on the same page because she said the doctor ran allergy tests but that he suggests I should see an allergist...
  10. Amom2010- I am so sorry you and your daughter are going through this... I can truely relate as we are going through this exact same thing at the moment. We saw a GI last Friday after my daughters test results cane back negative due to an IGA deficiency. We felt the GI specialist was following common by the book protocol without even listening to a word we...
  11. Salexander421- Goodness I'm so sorry you guys had to go through all that only to get a negative result. That is such a fear of ours, we saw what 2 days did to her which brought back negative results due to her IGA deficiency I just couldn't imagine going two or three months on gluten. After day 6 of my daughter still not having a BM we gave her miralax and...
  12. M0mto3 thanks so much for the advice! We had our daughter on syntol a probiotic when we put her on the fluten free diet 6 months ago to help heal her gut. Months later when we saw massive improvements we stopped the probiotic. Now that she has been glutened I think it's time to get her back on the syntol. Hope your little one starts feeling better soon...
  13. Frieze- I get that but it has been 5 days now since my daughters last BM. I would think after a bout of diarrhea it would take about 3 days for sytem to get back on track...
  14. Very frustrating! If my daughter and I are glutened it's diarrhea for a few days then constipation. Awesome :/
  15. M0Mto3 So sorry to hear your daughter was glutened today Before we put my daughter on a gluten-free diet she did not poop right away after eating gluten...in fact say we had pizza one night she wouldn't have a nasty poop until the next morning. When we got her on the gluten-free diet she started having healthy normal poos every day or two. Every...
  16. Stephanie you are so right. No one could have prepared me for what we have gone through with our daughter...no one told me it would be sooo heartbreaking. Thank you for the knowledge! I will def talk to her doctor again about allergy testing again. Not having any answers is bothering me. Her stomach is soooo bloated, she has yeast on her scalp, nasty/stinky...
  17. We haven't had her tested for food allergies yet. Her doctor said as long as we can pin point what is bother her then to just keep her on that diet and as long as she is healthy no need to put her through any more trama. (she had cronic ear infections and tubes put in at 11 months and has bottled acid reflux and aspirating so she has been through a lot for...
  18. Takala thank you I hadn't even heard to try the genetic testing I will look into that! I have finally came out of denial and realized I have a gluten problem as well. I think I was so focused on getting my daughter better I didnt even realize what was going on with my body. I will aslo look on wiki for those articles thank you! Any advice from a fellow...
  19. My daughter had her first GI appointment today. I was hoping and praying we would get answers but instead after the doctor took our $40 Co-pay (which may I add was the biggest waste of $40 EVER) he gives us NO answers but a slip for us to take our daughter in for an X-ray to rule out constipation. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! I know when my child is constipated...
  20. Thank you! Hope you are able to find out of it was in fact the meds that hurt them or not.
  21. Thanks so much for all of the advice! We have taken the food aspect of this very seriously, if it doesn't say certified gluten-free we don't buy it. I however didn't realize the cross contamination was just as important. We do have a gluten-free shelf in our pantry even a gluten-free shelf in our freezer. Looks like the next step is assigning the gluten-free...
  22. I'm so sorry to hear that your family went through that It is so heartbreaking to know that you are feeding your child something that is hurting them. My husband and I are are new to this but were pretty certain that the GI doc would tell us to put her on gluten to do the biopsy and other testing. We have decided not to put her through this, we did for two...
  23. Thank you for your response and mentioning the scope, I will def be requesting them to do the scope along with the biopsy. She has been gluten free for 6 months now. In the 6 months for the most part she has been pretty healthy. Not as gassy, not as bloated but it seems every now and again something is still bothering her. I didn't realize gluten was in play...
  24. To give you a little background I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter that my husband and I believe to have celiac. Since birth she has had stomach issues and was diagnosed with a dairy intolerance and acid reflux at 4 months old. Also she has had a dry looking flaky patch on her head since two weeks old this was diagnosed as a yeast infection on her head she...
