  1. Wow I can totally relate to having a range of issues and not being diagnosed... I have GERD, high blood pressure, low bone density, anxiety, the list goes on and on....My GP just kept prescribing me meds to treat the symptoms w/o even considering that all this could be caused by one simple thing....kinda sad and very eye-opening. I went gluten-free...
  2. Thanks everybody! I love the reassurance here..certainly not getting it from non-Celiacs! Luckily my family understands since they have it also, but it's kind of disappointing that my friends aren't being more supportive so far. I guess it's unfair for me to expect them to understand immediately. For example, I can tell they don't believe me at all...
  3. Maybe we should start a Fairfield County Celiac group
  4. I have a red parachute how about that
  5. Any single Celiac ladies in the greater NYC area? Now that I'm better I think it's time I start dating again.

Fried Chicken Fish & Chips Corn Dogs French Fries Fried Dough Chicken Nuggets Gyros (on a pita) Chicken Parm If I ever slip it will be someone offering me KFC lol... or this really good thin crust pizza place in my town that's to die for... Lucky for me I don't have much...
  8. I'm still new to this, but it is certainly remarkable that people kind of don't fully "buy it" when you tell them. I don't get it even though I definitely was one of those people before...so odd. I can't think of any other allergy or disease that is treated so flippantly by the general public as is Celiac. And you really get some funny looks when you...
  9. At first I was absolutely pissed about not being able to eat pizza, fried chicken, fast food, and beer.... And now after 2 weeks gluten-free I feel so awesome I don't even miss it! Living life healthy is way better than eating stuff that's poisoning you!
  10. Hello Everyone! I was recently diagnosed with Celiac @ age 31 and I have been gluten-free for 2 weeks now. I already feel better! I can't believe I've been sick my whole life and never knew it. I even used to think people with "celiac" were a little wacked out in the head. It turns out it was me that was wacked out in the head afterall. I'm looking...
