  1. I have A LOT of those symptoms too. I was just diagnosed two days ago. Today is my 2nd day Gluten free. I can't wait to see if a lot of these problems go away. Good luck to you!
  2. I'm pretty sure the doctor said IgA was the one that was way above normal. Where 11 or under being normal,I was in the 60's.
  3. I saw my doctor this afternoon. He said only one of my numbers came back high and it showed a more "chronic problem" i can't remember what number he said it was but he said normal is under 11 and mine was in he 60's. He said he thinks it's what I have and he'd like me to try the diet 2-3 months. If I am feeling better then he will diagnose off of that alone...
  4. I just found out last night that I was positive for Celiac. It's a lot to swallow, but we will get through it!
  5. Hello! I was just diagnosed with Positive Celiac blood panel results last night. I've suspected this is what has been wrong with me the minute I started researching it. I'm so glad to have a place to talk with others that have Celiac, as I know no one personally that has it.
  6. Personally, Just hearing that it came back Positive has been good enough. I just don't want to hear that 2 months down the road my doctor insists on doing the EGD. I'm more concered about the thyroid and it being maybe higher than it should.
  7. So i'm not stupid for making the doctors appointment? my mother says i'll piss off my doctor. I'm not trying to insult him, but the man didn't even want to test me for Celiac claiming "it was highly unlikely" and then I came Positive.
  8. Hey guys. I got the news yesterday that my Celiac panel came back with
  9. I have a doctor appointment at 2 today.
  10. The instruction from my doctor tonight was to go immediatley gluten-free for 2 months and make an appointment with him in about 2 months. I know normally you have an endoscopy.. but I think I will do this for now. I got the positive results. I don't know that I really want to do the endoscopy right now anyway. I'm already drowning in medical bills. Is there...
  11. Thanks everyone. I'm so happy. I went out to Common Market tonight and bought a bunch of gluten-free foods and even got a gluten-free vitamin and toothpaste. It's going to be a lot of learning and researching but i'm so glad I'm pointed in the right direction. I called my mother to tell her she should consider getting tested as well.
  12. I just got a phone call from my doctor's office stating that I am positive for Celiac. They said my numbers were abnormally high indicative of Celiac. I almost cried when I heard this. I no longer feel crazy and i'm looking forward to feeling normal and healthy again!!!!
  13. Actually JUST got a phone call. My doctor said my Celiac Panel was POSITIVE!! He said the # was very high and very indicative of Celiac. I'm SO freaking happy to just have an answer!
  14. Well, I got my letter in the mail for my thyroid. Says my TSH is 4.5 with a range of 0.4-5.5 Should I be concerned? Also, Is Celiac testing more likely to take longer? I got the thyroid and Celiac panel done on the same day. I had the results the next day (although I just got the mailing today) but I'm still waiting to hear about the Celiac 5 days...
  15. I have had this too. My wrists and ankles will swell. I'm not yet diagnosed with Celiac, but i've had numerous xrays of both and they always come back "normal" so NO idea what's causing it.
  16. No idea what any of those numbers/letters mean! I will post to you guys what I find when I get the results in the mail.
  17. She said they would send something to me in the mail about my thyroid blood work. I am also waiting on the Celiac stuff. I can't understand why it would take 4-5 days, but I'm probably just being impatient.
  18. Well. I had my blood work done on Thursday for Celiac and thyroid. They called me this morning to tell me my Thyroid blood work was normal. As much as I should be relieved, this was the only other thing I could find that made sense for all the symptoms I
  19. When I used to tell people I was vegetarian and couldn't eat their meat they'd say "oh.. okay.. but you still eat chicken right?" UM.. DID IT HAVE A HEARTBEAT? No. People are idiots.
  20. It's good to hear that you have a husband who supports you. I think the most frustrating thing to me is that I think my mom could have Celiac too. She has a lot of the symptoms and her response was "well if gluten free works for you, i'll give it a shot" but she is always playing down how I always feel like crap and making it out like i'm crazy, and frankly...
  21. For those of you out there that have not yet been diagnosed, or know you have it but can
  22. I'm jumping in late.. but what does the Gene test...for lack of better words "show" or "prove" that are different from the Celiac panel? I'm a newbie and I really don't know!
  23. That's pretty much the situation i'm in. I feel like back when I was told I had IBS, that I should have been tested then. I had to INSIST my doctor to even do the Celiac testing.
  24. Yes.. You are right. I am so close at this point I want to stick it out to get the most accurate testing. If the blood work does come back fine should I insist on a Upper GI anyway? I think if everything comes back negative I should see how much impact the Gluten free diet has for me.. it would just suck to to have to go back to eating gluten if it does work...
  25. Good luck!! I just had my blood tests done yesterday. I'm waiting to get a call back.
