I expect that you will get a variety of answers. Hands down the best is Pamela's Chocolate Cake Mix. It's fudgie and decadent! I often add different flavorings like Raspberry or Mint.
And I get many compliments from company when I serve it. You can dress it up with ice cream and drizzled with raspberry sauce or a sprig of mint. It's YUMMY!
Hmm, I bet it is! I love their pancake mix. Isn't the cake mix expensive though? I know it's $5-6 for the pancake mix.

Wanted to see what everyone's favorite gluten-free chocolate cake mix is.
I've only tried making one brand so far, it was Betty Crocker's Devil's food. Super easy and doesn't involve a lot of ingredients to be added in. The taste was delicious and no one knew it was gluten-free, if I didn't tell them. Very expensive at $5.50 a box. I basically made a $12 cake (two boxes of mix and add in the price of the frosting)
Just bought a package of Bob's Red Mill chocolate cake mix. Haven't tried it yet, but I don't need to buy two packages because it says it will make two 8 inch rounds. Don't currently have any frosting so I can't make it anytime before Tuesday. The price was only $3.39, so far it sounds like a win for Bob's. I read the directions and it doesn't sound as quick and easy at Betty Crocker's, but I certainly look forward to trying it.
My grocery also carries the Hodgkins Mill cake mix and I haven't tried that yet either.
Just let me know what your favorite is and why.

I'm not sure why I feel I have to write this to you mommies to be. Maybe because my son's birthday is in a matter of weeks.
I went for my first pregnancy appointment and they draw blood and do a quick pregnancy test and start to determine what week of pregnancy you are at. That went fine or so I thought. The next appointment I was having an internal ultrasound because the HCG level was soo high. The doctor was looking for multiples or if the pregnancy was many weeks ahead. The ultrasound showed one "blastocyst" with no heartbeat. (you kinda know you are in trouble when the terms are everything but "baby".) The doctor told me it would be best to end the "pregnancy" immediately and to he was sending me to the hospital accross the street. He said a level the high for a single pregnancy would surely mean a deformity even if there was a heartbeat and it appeared that the HCG level had dropped. He pressured me forever to just get the abortion. He finally backed off when I told him I just need to talk to my husband.
By the time I did tell my husband what was going on, I started to think it was time to listen to my own body. I still felt pregnant. I checked the pregnancy information book, some information is just a guesstimate timeline. The heartbeart should show up in the five to six weeks timeline. I decided to at least wait until wait should be the 6th week. (The Dr. said it didn't really matter that a spontanious abortion would surely happen during the week.)
I waited that week. My husband went with me to the next appointment. And there it was "blinking like a star in the dark midnight sky" a heartbeat.
Doctor ~ Fired.I was off to find a different OBGYN.
Speculations on what happened... Lab screw up on the blood test. A twin that did not survive could have blocked the view of the living heartbeat.
He will be 13 in a few weeks and is 5' 7" 147 lbs. athelitic build. No developmental disabilities.
Moral of the story people will tell you horror stories. (even doctors) You body is built and designed to do this and have a lot of faith.

I think the labs screw up more than we know, especially when it comes to pregnancy. I read a great book on how we shouldn't believe how far along we are when they tell us. They calculate the pregnancy weeks in the wrong way, think we're not as far along as we really are and because of that, make assumptions. Because they go off the typical cycle "30 days/14 days prior to expected period" and they use that to determine our baby's birthday. Sorry, I have a thing for pregnancy and how it really works.
Good for you for not listening to the doctor. Happy birthday to your son! Life is so precious!

Good morning all!
I'm only slightly disappointed, but at the same time I'm very very encouraged because I got my period today. This means my cycle is about 41 days long. I don't want to become too distracted and constantly thinking about this, but I am going to start keeping a close eye on when my period comes and putting it on a calendar.
It was so chaotic before (gluten-free) that I never kept track.

Still no period. Today is day 39 of my so called cycle, since my period hasn't shown. Had pin size spotting in CM this morning and then pink TP this afternoon. My breasts are tender and glands feel swollen. If period doesn't show tomorrow...not sure what I'll do. I have two tests in the bathroom. :/

So funny. I have a cat I rescued last year when she was a kitten Found her in a snowbank on a frigid day in a parking lot. No footprints anywhere but where she was so someone had just dropped her off. I didn't know how she would interact with my elderly kitties or if she was lost so I let her stay in my room until I knew we would add her to the family. She also stayed there for a couple weeks after she was spayed. Thus she thinks she should still be able to be in there. She reaches under the door like the cat in the video but instead of playing with the door stop she rattles the door. I have to use a pillow braced against the door to muffle the sound a bit.
My 'favorite' trick was done by the kitty in my avatar. He had many distinctive meows including one that sounded like 'hello'. It would be vocalized at an escalating volume until I said hello back. Then he would be satisfied he knew where I was and go do something else. He passed a couple months ago and I still miss his morning greeting.
I love cat stories. Cats have such personalities and they know it! Thanks for sharing about your kitties and I'm sorry to hear about your kitty boy.
My Mom rescued a cat long long time ago before my parents even met, named him Tiny, he would always come if he heard me crying or if I was hurt. When I was around 10, I flipped over my handle bars and was in the middle of the road, unconscious, Tiny was actually trying to protect me, to the point of hissing and getting mad at my Dad when he went to pick me up (my Dad ultimately wanted to kick the cat because he wouldn't let him pick me up). He died when I was 13. He was around 16 years old. The morning he died, he was above my head in my bed, kneading my hair and purring. I'll always remember that. I loved that cat. I think the most soothing sound is that of a purring cat.
I've always loved having cats and even with the heartache of losing one, I can't stand to not have them around. I'm going to go give my cats some love now.

The world's a toy to a cat. One of my former much loved kittehs would puzzle on a Saturday morning why the alarm clock (one of those wind up bell ones - way back before the digital age
) did not go off, and we consequently did not get up and feed her. Solution: knock the clock off the dresser (always on the dresser so I had to get out to turn it off ) and make that durned bell ring Sounds like ours. If we're not up when they think they need to be fed, it's like the end of the world. If they hear us talk or move....they're meowing at the bathroom door (from the inside). If we leave them out at night, 'Chaos' will wake us up with several different attempts: walks all over us with his tiny little paws. All his weight is on this very small area of paw and therefore hurts. He'll eat my hair, hubs' is too short, therefore not effective enough. He'll get on the dresser and start knocking things off (do our cats know each other?) like anything little, jewelry is a popular one! Pens are a close second. He'll lick a plastic bag...urgh, I hate that! Sits in front of the dogs kennel and stares at him so that he barks at him, I then get up to get after the dog and then I'm suppose to notice the cat...haha! The other cat, Eli is very hungry too, but manages not to be so annoying!
Btw, our alarm clock is on the dresser too. Hubs makes me get up and turn it off in the morning...only way to get me out of bed.

My brother lives in Holland with his family. I really like that area!
I enjoyed Holland when I was there too. I loved the little shops and the farmers market.

This is SO FUNNY to me, because I'm not skinny anymore, but slender. Except for my butt. The guys sure like a big butt!!!
My hubby noticed that my butt has gotten nicer and I actually think it has. I'm not one to boast about stuff like that, but I think it looks a lot nicer. Except now that I have lost a bunch of fat off of that area, I think I get bruised from (TMI) the crazy monkey dance. lol

Well I have been busted talking too racy on the forum before. I just wanted everyone to know I'm trying to behave today. I can't guarantee anything for tomorrow or the day after.
I am in the lower pennisula. (yup I'm a troll) I live in the safe triangle of most dangerous cities in MI. 50 miles north of the D, 50 miles south of Flint, and probably too close to Pontiac.
In the weird band of snow for Pine Knob and Mt. Holly ski areas.
My sister is in Monroe. I haven't ever been there but, I was out to Holland (West side of the state) when she lived there.

Anything's possible! Keep in mind, though, 3-4 months on schedule doesn't mean much when it comes to your cycle. I've had mine be 100% predictable for six months and then go completely sideways for no reason. Hope you get a little pink plus in a week!
AF is still a no show. :/ I wish she would either show up or I would be pregnant...none of this goofing off stuff. lol
Last month was the first month on schedule, might take a few months of on schedule for everything to be realigned. I know because of the gluten-free diet, things started to get better. I get excited when I hear encouraging stories about people being on the diet for only a month and then they get pregnant.

There is a full page ad with this same picture in the GIG's and CDF's newsletters...it is more clear in those as they are larger and not cropped, but she is also leaning forward toward the camera.

Well, I don't buy the explanation, for the simple fact that the person who responded wouldn't know any more than the rest of us, unless they were involved in creating the ad, or spoke to someone who was.
Aren't things like this farmed out to advertising agencies? Then again, such a blunder of a photo certainly doesn't look like something a professional would use in this kind of ad. Although I haven't done a lot of paid photography work, I'd never have used a photo like that. A pro would have taken numerous shots, then examined and compared them to find the right one for the ad. So I cannot accept that the one we see was the best of the lot. Again, this reasoning may only apply to a professional photographer.
By the time most of you see this post, I'll have sent a message to Scott. However not to ask what the thing in the photo is, but if the ad was done professionally.
I have to agree. I'm no professional photographer whatsoever, but regardless, I am analytical when it comes to this sort of thing and If I were to look at this picture with a analytical/professional mindset, I would not choose this picture for an advertisement. If I were in the consumer affairs/advertisement department of the company, I wouldn't be happy with it and would push for something different....it's a lot to do, just for an ad, but it is really representing who the company is.

You're silly. It absolutely can be red hair, the sun is shining on the one side of her body and the other is in the shade, based on the color of the skin on her hand it looks tan, not "dark". As a red head, I assure you that our hair color looks different in the sun than it does in the shade!
haha, I think it's funny when people call me silly.
Her skin looks too dark on her hand. In any case, you're probably right because her hair that's flowing looks too much like Caucasian hair. But, I still don't think it's hair, it's too low to be the other pony tail. lol
