Thanks. I was previously entering searches for urinary retention. -
ARCHIVED Can Urinary Retention Be A Symptom Of Gluten Withdrawl?
MikeOhio posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've been gluten free I think for about a month or two except there was a thing with a salad kit where the croutons were in a separate pack but somehow I thought I saw some in the salad itself I ate that I shared. I've already had kidney stones but the urologist said about a week ago that they are completely gone. Also I have had testicular pain for a long... -
ARCHIVED Diagnosed By Dentist With Grinding Of Teeth
MikeOhio replied to MikeOhio's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just wondered if maybe the gluten damage could be mistaken for the grinding. I guess I'm probably stuck with buying an OTC Grind Guard. The one in my price range one person on one site said was bulky and uncomfortable but on Amazon got a lot of positive reviews. I hope I have at least average size teeth so the bulkiness of the device isn't too much. -
ARCHIVED Diagnosed By Dentist With Grinding Of Teeth
MikeOhio posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've known myself to be Celiac for 2-3 years. it's only recently I've taken major steps to be completely gluten free. My dentist has diagnosed me with having grinding of my teeth at night and said I should get a mouth guard. Could the damage he's attributing to teeth grinding be associated with my Celiac disease? I guess the enamel is damaged. it helps to... -

ARCHIVED I'm Going Bonkers Over The Diificulties Of Celiac Disease!
MikeOhio replied to MikeOhio's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm disabled so I don't have any taxable income anyway. Of course the government does something so they can say they are helping while also helping as few people as possible. In my state they will help a woman with cancer....BUUUUUTT.....only if they have a child under the age of 18. Since most women with cancer are older, they effectively say they are helping... -

I usually get the orange juice that is from concentrate. It's mixed with the water already though. All the grocery stores I have access to are in my town Orlando Bros. Golden Dawn and Wal Mart in the nest town over. My town is small and the economy here isn't great. Most people here just have food, shelter, cable tv, maybe video games, not much more than that... -
ARCHIVED Celiacs Who Don't Eat gluten-free Make It Hard For Me :(
MikeOhio replied to Victoria6102's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
*looks sheepishly at room* I did that for quite a while. I'm not responsible for the grocery shopping in the house and don't have a lot of money for food. I'm trying to do it right now but there are foods I thought would be okay that I have to eliminate and the person that does do the grocery shopping doesn't always get the brand I asked for. A lot... -
ARCHIVED I'm Going Bonkers Over The Diificulties Of Celiac Disease!

Thanks. I just bought a bag of potatoes and I have a little rice. Potato's are ok and I can stand rice in limited amounts. I really don't like beans though. It may come down to needing to eat them for sheer nutrition. I think I found a brand of tortilla chips that is gluten free that is somewhere between the price of Great Value and What I wanted to get originally... -
ARCHIVED I'm Going Bonkers Over The Diificulties Of Celiac Disease!
MikeOhio replied to MikeOhio's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks. That's so very kind of you to offer. I think my mom actually did get me gluten-free mac and cheese before from wal mart but it's a little expensive to be buying all the time. I can't remember the brand but it tasted waaaay better than the gluten-free Pasta they carried. -
ARCHIVED I'm Going Bonkers Over The Diificulties Of Celiac Disease!
MikeOhio posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have Celiac disease and I live with my mom, not because I don't want to work, but because I'm disabled. The amount of money my State gives me for the type of disability I have is so low I'd barely survive on my own even if I lived in local low income housing which is known for having a lot of shady characters. The only grocery stores are locally Golden... -
ARCHIVED Chronic Infections - Anyone With Insight?
MikeOhio replied to granolagal's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have chronic sinus infections and have had epididymitis. I think I have it now, I have the same pain but my urologist can't find any infection. I haven't been eating gluten free for awhile. I have read that people with celiac's immune system's are too busy fighting the gluten to be fight other things as well as they should. -

ARCHIVED Is Coffee The Problem
MikeOhio replied to Wp1234's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Some people are sensitive to coffee. I get diarrhea 8-24 hours after drinking coffee. I used to drink it in very small amounts if I was constipated. I still was a little more un-constipated than I wanted to be. -

ARCHIVED Even My Mom Can Be Rude About Celiac
MikeOhio replied to Kimbalou's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sorry to hear that. My mom's usually pretty good about eating out although I have to eat a lot of french fries and salads and dairy products sometimes. I live in a rural area myself so there's no gluten free restaurants here. I'm thinking about maybe getting some pepper steak from the local Chinese restaurant sometimes. I don't know if I recommend that for... -
ARCHIVED Tips On Eating Gluten Free On A Low Budgetand Somewhat Low Preperation Time?
MikeOhio posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi. I'm new to these boards. I have Celiac disease but not all that much money to spend on gluten free groceries. I also don't have a whole lot of time to prepare food. Does anybody have any tips for me? I've been eating a little bit of breaded foods like popcorn chicken and fishsticks to save money and be able to eat with the person I live with sometimes...
